I am active in the regex forum and frequently use the BBCode CODE=TEXT tag to post regex solutions. I recently discovered that for a CODE tag, the BBCode parser erroneously strips any backslash preceding a single quote. It is my understanding that anything placed inside a CODE tag should not be processed (i.e. changed) in any way. This "un-escaping escaped single quotes" behaviour makes it ...

I have a very strange problem, I can update the table with single quote, but I cannot insert single quote. It only happen for this particular table in the database. Is there any suggestion on what I should look at? I had already added in an extra single quote in my sql statement, something like this: insert into Table_1 VALUES ('hello''s world','xxx')

I am trying to post a form into an Access database and if someone uses a single quote in any of the fields it is causing it not to work. Does someone know the workaround to fixing this? Here is the code so if someone showed me how to strip or escape the slashes and then re-enter them that would be awesome! ASP Code: The form works perfect if someone does not use a single...

I figured this out based on http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...e-quote-998 30/ which was the second result Google gave me when I searched for "single quote with xargs". Here's an example: Code: sasha@reactor:~/test$ ls | xargs 'echo {}' xargs: unmatched single quote; by default quotes are special to xargs unless you use the -0 option sasha@...
