I just finished building a Kona Paddy Wagon and with the great Indian Summer weather have been fortunate enough to get some riding in. Its got brakes but I'm running it in fixed gear mode because thats what I wanted to try hoping to maybe get back to a minimal look. Plus I ride on the street. This is my first single/fixed ...

All but one of the posts I've seen in the Fixed & Single Speed forum have to do with light weight high dollar bikes either converted to single speed or fixie, or are actual track bikes from a manufacturer. The one exception was a thread about coaster brakes. Does a single speed mass marketed "Big Box" ...

Excuse my lack of knowledge. I think "freewheel" is the term for a rear hub that's to be used with a cassette. Either way, I'm trying to figure out what to use. I want to make my '07 P2 a single speed. Should I use a single speed hub or a "cassette" type with a single speed kit on it? I'm leaning towards a Phil Wood single speed hub, a good freewheel, 36x 14 gauge spokes crossed 4 ...

Has anyone used a I9 single spped wheel for a X5 set up? I have a King set up as a 1x6 using the modified cassette from Jeff Jones and a Shadow rear derailleur but I can't find a combination including the above that will work on the I9. The Sram lower 5 cluster fits the hub but nothing I've tried so far will shift past the cogs.
