I'm not sure if anyone else is having the same problem with the signal strength but the signal goes from having 5 bars to having no bars at all and then goes back up. Sometimes it stays with no bars for a while. This has been happening outdoors. I bought the phone when it first came out and about a week later I went to the store and it was changed but I'm still having the same problem with the ...

I have been chasing down some issues on my TV aerial and noticed some odd behaviour. Measurements taken using a Tandy digital multi-meter. I got strong swings from > 1volt to a few millivolts reading across the co-ax down from the aerial. I get stable readings at the unused outputs from my distribution amp - but these can be 0.1 millivolt one minute and 4.5 millivolts...

Can we use this thread to accumulate data regarding DROID's ability to receive a useable signal. I am in a well services 3G area and my phone signal lives between -90->-100 dBm...resulting in only 1 or 2 bars. Cannot determine if this a Verizon issue or a hardware issue. From what I have read, many are receiveing very poor signal. Go under menu>settings>phone info>signal strength. ...

Signal strength on modern mobiles. My office is in a marginal area where I only get 1 bar on my T-mobile E71, I've tried other networks but without success. Does anyone know how I can find out which phones have a better signal than others ? I go to Japan a lot and over there they still have phones with pull up aerials but these are not SIM phones so no good over here. I've asked T-...

I am in an isolated rural area. My ISP uses Motorola Canopy 900 Mhz equipment. There's a tower ( actually, a wooden utility pole ) with their antennas about 1.8 miles away from my house. I have a long Yagi antenna on the roof with the Canopy receiver-modem on the antenna and Cat 5 cable running into the house. My ...

Hi Completety new to this whole forum system, so sorry if i've put this in the wrong place. Recently moved from O2 to Vodafone as told by everyone that the Vodafone signal strength in the New Forest is always good to excellent. My phone went live on 18th November with Vodafone but signal coverage has been poor to non-existent in the New Forest area - Lymington/Pennington (post code SO41...

I have AT&T DSL. The service offers up to 12mbps. My desktop has a clear line of sight to my wireless router. Speedtest.net from the desktop consistently gets around 11.5mbps. When I got to my bedroom, it's exactly the same distance from the router, but there is 1 wall between my laptop and the router. From my laptop, I usually get around 5mbps. Very occasionally I will test at get 8mbps....

I bought a new TV tuner card (ATI TV Wonder 600 USB - on the list of supported cards) and I can't get it to work - during the setup wizard, the signal strength shows up as 0. I can watch OTA HD just fine using their Catalyst software (I installed it after I found out that Beyond TV isn't working). The strange thing is, the new card shows up as a generic "BDA 2883 TVTuner". Just as a test, I ...

Cell phone Signal Strength in Sarasota FL Visiting the folks in Sarasota FL area. My cell phone signal is usually 1 bar to no bars. Occasionally it switches over to roam on the Verizon network. My cell battery pretty much doesn't last the day down here. Anything I can do, to have my phone work better down here? My old phone ...
Have had my Eris for a week and am adjusting to all the quirks mentioned in other posts. But phone service in my home is nearly non-existent. Sometimes I get 1 bar and sometimes none. Phone calls are garbled and have had several drops. My wife's LG phome on Verizon does much better. Anyone having similar issues or any ideas on how to overcome this?

Is anyone else seeing this behavior? right before I make a voice call the droid will show 4 bars, when I place a voice call it will drop to 0 bars and the voice quality is pretty bad. In the phone settings you can see the DBm signal strengh and before I make a call it will show -96 and when I make a call it will go to -104. I have noticed this even when right on top of a cell tower. ...

Sorry, no I didn't get one. I did get a call to see if I was happy with the response, but lost the signal & got cut of before I could respond, which was a bit ironic

Thanks Thanks smallbridge. I think you're right. Contacted a couple of installers over the weekend and they all agree the size of the dish is fine. So, it's either skew - I'll try that tonight, or a naff LNB (could be). Thanks for the precise details about the ...

Assuming that the antennas don't help (and I am not saying they won't), you can also buy a wireless access point and attach it to one of the ethernet ports on the router (assuming you have these). Then you can place the WAP in your bedroom and get full wireless signal there. WAPs are typically less expensive than full-on routers of similar quality.
