Does anyone have a recommendation for a good siding contractor? We need repairs done to the siding on our chimney and I'm having trouble finding any recommendations anywhere. We are in West Cary. Thanks

Ice guard is not permeable. When used behind wood siding, especially on a house of over 100 years old which has little or no insulation or vapor retarder on the inside, I believe that the inability to allow vapor pressure to escape will lead to a wet condition behind the ice guard material. I am looking at getting some 1/2" R-Tech to use under the vinyal siding that I will be putting on. First is this the right stuff to use and can it be left on the walls for several months before the siding is actually put on? My local Home Depot is closing out the Hitachi coil siding nailer at $320. Was $379. Don't know if this is nation wide. I saw it at the store in Ridgeland, MS. Website still has it for $397!

Hi, I am going to replace a couple windows on my house. the interior has been stripped to the studs. Here is my problem. The siding on my house sits directly on top of the studs.
