I have at times successfully (I think) turned off and at other times was unable to turn off the flash in S mode--but not sure what I did differently and can't turn it off. Seems like there should be a way to set the shutter speed and not use the flash without taping the flash down.

my D2H not working with auto ISO on anything but SP mode? I haven't selected H1 or H2, my ISo is set to Auto in CSM menu and it works in SP but not in "P" or "AP" modes. Is there a setting I am overlooking or is this a fault I need to address? Thanks.

Hi, Sorry I am repeating this question but the title was not clear before. Yesterday, I took some photos with my LX3 in Washington DC. On some of the indoor photos, the camera data showed the light source to be 'shutter priority'. In those cases the shutter speed showed as 1/30 and the picture is not very clear. However, during the whole time, I was using the P mode. This happened only in the...

Hi, I have an LX3 and yesterday when I went to Wash DC I took some photos. On some of the indoor photos, the camera data showed the light source to be 'shutter priority' in some of the indoor photos. In those cases the shutter speed showed as 1/30. However, during the whole time, I was using the P mode. This happened only in the indoor photos and I had the flash on and it only happened a few ...

Hey guys. I recently got a Canon XSi, and have been experimenting quite a bit with it. I noticed one thing though that I wasn't sure if it is working as intended or not. If I am on auto mode shooting a semi-dark indoor scene without flash, it gives me something like 1"3 and F4.5. If I open the flash, it then moves to 1/60 and F4.5. This seems normal, as it knows the flash will be bringing ...

A friend pointed out that I neglected to discuss the new S-mode (shutter priority) on the GRD3 in my review of my experience with the camera posted here: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread. php?t=81612 Indeed, I think this is a great addition but simply haven't used it yet. There are two interesting uses for the S-mode that I'm interested in. First, if there is movement in the ...

Which is preferable? It seems like this is the most manual control that you really need. My hunch is shutter, since the speed of an object is the most obvious.

whenever I take pictures and try to adjust the manual or the shutter settings I always get very dark pictures I have done some research and it seems to me that it could possibly be a malfunction in the product, but all my other camera modes work I'll post the information on these dark pics here is what it says: 10M F ISO 800 1/500 F2.8 Color STD Flash OFF WB ...

The best thing you can do for yourself is take the camera out of auto mode and learn the rule which says keep shutter speed at 1/(35mm equivalent focal length) or faster. Start by using shutter priority to control the shutter speed, and set your ISO to minimum. If you find you don't have enough light, lowering the shutter speed's only going to make the shot blurry. Noise has gotten worse as ...
