You can wintersow shrubs/trees too. From last year, I sowed Sweet shrub, crape myrtles, flowering dogwoods, and others. Here's the tiny sweet shrub when I planted it out this past July.

I am looking for relatively fast growing beautiful & hard trees and shrubs to make bonsai. I want to aim to keep my trees at a height for 1-2' max. So far I have been experimenting with dwarf pomegranate trees. Any suggestions on other trees to look out for? I was thinking maybe olive, specific pines, and a red leaf maple.

OK I want to dig up my entire yard and plant trees and shrubs. I just got thru looking at the Whitman Farms online catalog and want everything! Seriously there's at least 20 varieties that I'd love to have. I could fit them but would have a completely wooded front yard. lol There's very little space in the back unless I get rid of a couple thousand feet of deck. Take a look at what they carry. I ...

I have a tree in my yard that turns all the shrubery under it and the trees around it black. Anyone know what it is and what can be done aside from cutting it down.

Wind direction had my desired ground location setup not huntable. I setup across the small food plot, looking directly at the woodline(swamp). I was between 2 small strip plots and a dovefield with my back to an oaktree with some shrubs at the base providing plenty of background cover. Unfortunatly, I had zero frontside cover. Approx 7:30, 2 small bucks come out of the exact spot I thought ...

At my new office (bldg recently bought by friends), they have bubbler-type irrigation, which is fine for the grass, but is pretty wasteful and ineffective along the front, where drip makes a lot more sense. We are pulling out some old lame-ass shrubs and replacing them with something prettier and more appropriate, so now is the time to change the irrigation. We're getting a couple very ...

Hello all! After making room for the orchard, nut trees and shrubs, fruiting shrubs, vegetable garden, wildlife plantings, and chicken coop/chicken run, I've decided to devote 0.3-0.4 acres of my property to producing firewood. This will be for burning in a smaller potbellied stove in our living room that we use to supplement our propane furnace in the coldest parts of winter. I intend to ...

Has anyone else reflected on the habitat development they've done for better or worse this year? If so, what did you do and what is your assessment? I've had a few ... Arbor Day Foundation - Among the 500+ trees/shrubs I planted, 11 were from the Arbor Day Foundation, given to me as a gift from my dad. It was really a 10 tree package for $10 - some promotion they had going. The free lilac ...

I'm looking for some roses that produce smaller flowers, but grow on medium-large sized bushes or shrubs. High centered, buds/flowers with lots of petals are preferred. Colors really aren't important, but they should be good as a cut flower. I've already found plenty with huge blooms, and I'm trying to round out my collection. I like the size of Double Knockout flowers, as a reference. In ...

Bluebirds and Hopelessness c4c. Pull your shutters across my eyes, lead me blindly into your caves of despair. Take my hand, pull me through the waterfalls into the room of imaginations. Against the North wall, I can now see your world. The red skies clashing with fluid grounds and shrubs. Liquid ...
