There's a lot of threads here on what shotgun to get, when to get it and how to use it. Like all other areas of human endeavor, there's a mess of misinformation about shotguns and their use under dire peril. Here's some opinions, forged over decades and from real word experience. I've been involved with shotguns for a long time. Fighting shotguns do not need to be all black, camo or ...

I came across a website for used guns, specifically shotguns, while on a business trip--and now I can't find it. I thought it was jgsales.com, but revisited that and am not sure its the right link. Nothing spectacular there now; the site i visited had all many of beretta and benneli shotguns at a great price. Now, they were rough looking to be sure, but I like workin' guns. Where's your ...

For 2010, Mossberg is introducing an adjustable trigger for their pump shotguns (models 500, 535, 835) in the turkey, slugster and turkey/slug combo models. Like the Lightning bolt action rifle trigger, this shotgun trigger is fully adjustable from 2 3/4 to 7 lbs. According to the manufacturer, it's rifle-like and creep free. Just thought some folks here might be interested. Jim

CZ Bobwhite side by side shotguns I've been looking at these for the past few years. Each time I handle one I have to run and call my 12 Step sponsor as the demons tell me to buy it. I handled one again last week and the demons spoke again. This time the 12 Step sponsor said if I had to buy one get both the 12 and the 20 as ...

Howdy! New to shotguns, new to the forum. This is a great place with a huge index, I'm sure I can educate myself pretty well out here. I've got a couple of questions regarding the Benelli shotguns. First; What exactly are the differences between the Nova and the Super Nova? Second; For e.g. the Remington 870 and Mossberg 500 there are many aftermarket parts available such as stocks, fore-ends, ...

Thanks to today's patch (called patch 1.07 by Infinity Ward), cheap deaths caused by these weapons will bother players no more. They have been nerfed to hell! This patch also fixes the ...

Screw in chokes on defense shotguns...why??? Benelli has screw in chokes on some of their semi automatic defense shotguns...why? I just don't see the point in it. If you are buying an 18" barrel shotgun with rifle sights for shooting slugs and buckshot, what is the purpose of changing the chokes? It seems to me that a fixed ...

So this "rebalancing" of the akimbo shotguns didn't seem to do crap. IW needs to remove the option to go akimbo with them altogether because the only thing I see anymore is people shooting me from a mile away with them every match. And while I'm at it, what's with all the level 10 prestiges running around? Either there are tons of people living in their mom's basement or there are ...

I always thought that using rock salt as ammunition was just something they did on Supernatural. While going on a walk with family to work off all the Christmas food, we passed by a sewage plant and my dad told us about how when he was a boy, he and his friends used to try to sneek over the fence and play there. But there was a guard with a shotgun loaded with rock salt and he would shoot at ...

Do they make the Sagia in a 20ga? My wife has expressed an interest in one for her side of the bed, but I have never seen or heard of one. Nor can I find any information on one, but I want to make sure I look under all the rocks before I give up. Thanks

I just finished reading Death in the Long Grass by Peter Capstick. What a great read! He said that he used a 12 gauge for leopards and other thin skinned animals. Is that a common practice? Is it a good idea? I'm wondering what other African game you would hunt with a shotgun. Thanks.

I headed to PGC SUnday for a little R&R. Unfortunately, there was a trap shoot so I couldn't shoot wobble on 7, the 5 stand setup was not working right and so I ended up on Range 12 shooting trap with a variety of non trapshooters. Fine with me, I'm a shotgunner and not a trapshooter per se. I noted that some of the non familiar faces were carrying brand new 870 Expresses. One young ...

I read an article today about a new for 2010 version of the Mossberg 500/535/835 pump guns that have an LPA (lightening pump action) trigger. According to the article, the LPA trigger is factory adjusted to 2 3/4 pounds w/minimal creep and is based on the lightening bolt action trigger used on their rifles. It's available on their turkey and deer combos and the trophy slugster line of 12 ...

In case anyone associated with Remington mfg. is reading these forums and actually gives a @#$% ... (I know, it'll be locked soon enough but I don't care, at least I can vent.) I have owned so many Remmy shotguns and rifles I probably can't sit down and list them all. I've purchased two Remington shotguns and three Remington rifles JUST THIS YEAR! And anything I've bought that was ...

I have been taking gun to and through Canada since 1968 and have only once been given any trouble about having a trigger lock on my rifles/shotguns. I now routinely put them on before leaving the States just to avoid any hassles. It was recently brought to my attention that US Citizens entering/traveling through Canada might need to have their rifles/shotguns in Hard Cases. Is this true? I have ...
