subbing butter for shortening I told dd we should make banana muffins this time with the old bananas instead of bread (as we usually do) and she has a recipe from Highlights High Five for them she wants to use but it calls for shortening, 1/2 cup. Is it an even sub if I want to use butter instead? So, a 1/2 cup butter?...

Hello, I'm trying to figure out if the substitution of suet is 1:1 with shortening in a pie crust recipe. I have my recipe (it's the one my mom always used when she didn't buy the crust pre-made LOL!) but it calls for shortening- I'm in the UK and only have suet available. For some reason I'm not convinced that it is a 1:1 substitution. Does anyone know for sure? I feel like I'm in the ...

I've never been able to get my head around regex's in PHP so I'm particularly struggling here. I have a simple input string that contains all the normal chars used + html What I want to do is trim the string after 100 chars but (this is where i'm getting confused by the regexs) I don't want it to count characters (inc spaces) that are between so that it ignores html. This is as ...

Possibly (probably) an ultra-paranoid question from an ultra-paranoid member, but I received a better-than-expected response from my cat getting fat thread, so it's worth a shot. I'm going to get started doing some affiliate marketing using blogging, landing pages, PPC, and Craigslist (whitehat, don't worry). My question is dealing with URL shorteners. Most people targeted with purchases ...

While shortening a gold-color chain bracelet for a friend I found the two O-shape end links can be bent opened fairly easily. I.e. if stretched, the link could turn to C shape and fall out. Is there gold-color solder that can be used to solder the ends of the link together so it can't open?

This winter I will collect the part needed to swap a 8.8". I'm still not sure on wich way to go about shortening or extending one side of the diff. According to a thread I made a while ago about my diff going kaboum, Captain bondo said that the 8.8 end up about 2.5" shorter once narrowed than the 1031. It means that I would need 30~32mm of spacer on each side to run the hydra. Switching to ...
