I looked through the manual for a bit......searched the forum and can't find the answer. How do you change the V-Vocal editor.....and/or the PRV display to display the note in sharps or flats? I have a project in the key of Ab and can't seen to find a way to pick anything but G#??? Thanks for the help....

Jose7822 dmmi, I know this is no excuse for having the option to have keys being correctly displayed in the V-Vocal editor.  But, if you know why Ab is preferred over G#, then I'm sure you also know how to "transpose" those notes to the correct key.  I put transpose in quotations because you're not really transposing anything as that would suggests a transfer of pitches, and...

Because A flat and G sharp are two very different notes. Purists say that there are not 12 notes, but 36 notes. Some go as far to say that with double sharps and double flats, there are 84 different notes. I think that's going slightly too far......

I have been playing the violin just a short while and I still don't Chromatic Etude and I cannot play the sharps sharp, flats flat, and naturals natural. I always get them all jumbled and could really use some help. The book I'm using has the little numbers over the notes for third position maybe... I'm really not sure, could you help me out? I think what you meant in your OP is that in a key with sharps (not flats) the last sharp in the key signature is a semi-toine (half step) below the key (for a major key, i.e. with 2 sharps, the last one is C# which is a half step below D, which is the key). This doesn't work in keys with flats as you are going the 'other way' around the circle (steps of 4ths down instead of steps of 5ths ...
