Does SQL Server accept connections from any kind of client computer - perhaps computers running Linux/UNIX/Mac OS, etc? Is that why SQL Server does not authenticate the client computer?   I think SQL Server must authenticate client computers against Active Directory. Its not enough to restrict clients to local connections or remote connections. There must be full fledged authentication ...
