My DD is 2 and has just started childcare 3 days a week, as i need to work. I thought she was doing fine, in childcare..but last night and today i have noticed she wont let me out of her sight (or reach!!). I have tried just about everything i can think of: At drop off to childcare i don't draw out the drop off (5-10 minutes max) i try to get her involved in an activity before i leave ( i ...

I seriously don't know what is wrong with me. Today was the dinner party at work. All I could think about was going home to DS. I almost started to cry because I missed him so much. I was only away from him for about 3 hours. Isn't he supposed to be the one with seperation issues not me? Is this normal? Does anyone else feel this way?

I have a two year old-ish chocolate lab that cries/howls for about 15 minutes right after being left alone. He doesn't do it every time, but often enough that it might become a problem in our new living situation. He calms down and is fine by himself after that for the rest of the day (no accidents, no chewing anything he's not supposed to, etc). I've had him about 9 months now, and our old ...

Aydan has been suffereing from major seperation anxiety again. I'm sure it has a lot to do with Zayn being around but anytime I leave the room or go upstairs he wants to come with me. He's always calling out to see where I am, if we're going out he won't let Sulman put him in the car unless he sees me getting into the car too. It's really hard because when Sulman is home I just want to ...

My little guy is 4 weeks old and my in-laws are wanting to watch him for a few hours to allow my husband and I some time for dinner or shopping. I know this shouldn't be a big deal but I am so apprehensive about it...I think it's seperation anxiety. I know I need to get over it because daycare will be starting in 3 weeks and I need to ease into this now...but how do you deal with this? Jump in ...

Not the heathens, they're fine. It's me! I'm up here for a week long course in Guelph Ontario and I've been here since Sunday. I miss my puppers. I know they are annoying at times and track mud all through the house. They chase the cat when they know better and shed hair so much that they are trying the warrenty on the new vacume.... But I miss them!! My warm snuggly happy gang. They ...

Hi ladies, I hope you are all well. I need some advice regarding separation anxiety with Lucia. I have posted on here several times before regarding Lucia and how she is as a baby and you have all ben very helpful and really hope you can give me some advice on this 'issue' as such now. Lucia has always been a very fussy, demanding, spirited, whichever way you call it baby since she was ...

My DD is 8 months old and has no teeth. Neither of my DS's got teeth until they were over a year old. About 2 weeks ago she had croup - turned into an ear infection. She was on Amoxicellin (sp) until Sat. The last 2 nights she has been waking up in the middle of the night crying and screaming. She'll go back to sleep, but within an hour or two...

Thanks ladies for the reassurance that this will pass. It's gotten alittle better the last few days but he is still monitering everywhere I go LOL! Heather, I think it may have to do with the fact that you are home with Jason and he may think you are going out or something without him? I don't know. I think Aydan has gotten closer to me since I've been on mat leave and he's afriad I may ...
This can be solved in a couple of weekends. First, walk your dog more often, and for longer walks. Before you know you are going somewhere, take your dog out for a good hour. This way your dog is going to be more tired and less likely to even know you are gone. Next dont make a big deal about leaving. When you are doing things around the apartment, leave for a second. Then come right back in. ...

I get told she's grizzly or clingy (she has a cold and is teething so thats kinda expected) When i pick her up i watch her before i let her see me and she's fine no tears at all, soon as she see's me...waterworks with the fast bolt towards me with the ultimate cling lol. I dunno, she's only just ...

Chocolate labs can be behaviourally challenged. I would suggest seeking the opionion of a certified veterinary behaviourist, or even some local behaviour experts at the shelters. Sounds to me like a little seperation anxiety which can be extremely frustrating for everone involved there were some good tips stated earlier. Shock collars are of variable use and are often misused or used ...

I am glad to hear this. My puppy is going through seperation anxiety bad, and I thought it was + something I was doing wrong. I have been walking him in morning and evenings, but he howls so bad as soon as I leave the room. He isn't doing anything destructive, and at bed time he only howls like 15 minutes, but if he is in the laundry room (where he eats dinner) he howls for about an hour, ...
