My sense of smell has been super ridiculously acute. Normal smells like dishsoap bother me, and a lot of smells around the house make me gag. :( I get so frustrated--I'm past the ms and now getting sick more than ever because every little smell in my house is an olfactory assault! And its worst in the kitchen, which of course makes it hard to cook healthy meals or even go get myself a glass of ...

From time to time my sense of smell goes haywire, and for the past few weeks I have been having to stand away from some things, and people. It is as though my sense of smell is extra sensitive- to yucky smells in particular. For the most part it just a curiosity, but there are times when I have to beg illness, or claustrophobia if some one (who probably really smells fine) gets too close. And I...

I've been on my meds for 7 weeks now, and have seen a big drop in VL (see below) and remain hopeful that I will see an increase in CD4 with my next set of labs. My HIV regimen is Prezista/Norvir/Truvada taken once per day, always with food, as that is essential for the Prezista to work. I also take AIDS-OI suppression drugs (Septra/Bactrim/Rifabutin) as my CD4 is low enough to need ...

We all know that a heightened sense of smell is one lovely side effect on pregnancy.. but has this gotten much worse for anyone else lately? It's worse for me now than it was in the first trimester. My husband used some of my Papaya Mango lotion one morning while I was still sleeping and I thought I was going to cry. He also tried to put on a dirty shirt that he'd worn one shift at work and I ...

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I did not think that Rifabutin might be the cause -- the most noticable side effect from Rifabutin is my urine is now orange, but they warned me about that. I had assumed the PI would be the cause of the loss of smell. I hope that I will not be on Rifabutin much longer (as soon as my CD4 goes over 100 for 3 months in a row I can stop it). Will be...

Hehe... yes this is one of the WORST pg symptoms!!! One of my co-workers started calling me "the wolf" because I can smell things from so far away. I have barred certain foods from my house completely because they just hit my "instant puke" button - like stuffed grape leaves - totally weird. I have thrown all my husband's shoes into the shed in the yard and he is not allowed to come near me when...

Being as I work with SCENT hounds & retrievers I play with a dogs sense of smell all the time, and many things don't work the way a person thinks they would. An object produces a "scent cone", the size, shape, and location of that scent cone has as much to do with a dogs ability to smell it as does the dogs ability to smell it at all. Wind changes everything. It is much harder to get a dog ...

Thats how they communicat, they dont speak english or spanish or french, so they interpret body language, energy and emotions. We also release certain biological chemicals/hormones when we laugh or cry. So its a bit of both :)
