In June I purchased from a dealer my first BMW, a 2002 1150RT with 37,000 miles. It now has 39,000 miles. if you only have the shell you do not need a logbook to scrap the shell or even the car,once scrapped all you need to do is send a letter giving the vehicle details including the chassis number and dvla will accept this as proof,in the case of a shell it is upto you not the scrap yard to send off the main part of the log book,and i got this info from DVLA
