I mean, "Moon" and "Gattaca" only needed their violent images to be just a tad more violent, and "Solaris" originally got an R before appealing for a PG-...

I need some movies to watch. Willing to watch films in subtitles, and either recent or older films. Some fantasy recommendations are okay, but keep in mind I'm in a hard sf mood.

Damn, sorry about that oversight. I thought it was PG-13. Hmm. I even went and saw it. By my original post, I didn't mean to say that smart sci-fi films should be rated R. I'm just surprised more of them don't take the R-rating when I feel they'd be more commercially viable trying to appeal to the people who go to see R-rated movies. Many people, when they see a PG-13, assume that product is...

Please don't give Roland Emmerich and Michael Bay any ideas. I don't need them ruining Steinbeck for me. The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care.
