Have been run in circles trying to get my Hp scanjet 4500c/5500c series to work in Windows 7. Microsoft tells me is compatible and get drivers from HP web site. Well no can do . HP does not respond with any information. Does anyone have any information ?

i have vista and xp os in my orgnization i have installed scanjet 7800 driver and the scanning software , when i run the scanner software it display this error( the specified scanner could not be select ) any solution for this issue.

Bought a new iMac 24" which came with 10.6. My previous G5 had 10.5 and after I sold it I kept my HP ScanJet 3690 scanner. With 10.5 the scanner worked with the HP software AND the Apple software for scanning flawlessly. Now with 10.6 I can't use it any more. The OS stated that the scanner can't be found. installed scanjet 3300c on XP Pro with SP3. When I run the scanning software HP Precisionscan LT v3.02c, the latest version, as soon as I click on "Start a new scan" I get an error message saying that "An undefined program error has occurred (2117)". I have an HP Scanjet Scsnner 4570c. It's been fine but just within the last day when I want to scan something, the preview shows a complete dark picture with the item I want to scan showing very dark.....in other words the finished picture is black or dark blue. Does anyone have a solution or have had this problem before?

I am looking for the download for the software that comes with the scanjet 8350, specifically the software that lets you make the settings profiles for the document feeder (ftp to server, barcode seperator etc). The support/download area does not seem to have much for Win 7/64... anyone know where it is located or if it doesn't exist yet, when it will exist?

Although basic functionality works for the scanjet 4850 on widows 7, I can not determine how to scan slides and film. I purchased the 4850 specifically for this reason. Does anyone have an experience or suggestions to share?

Scanjet 8350 ADF stopped working after updating firmware to v1.45. Scanner does not respond to OS. If unplug ADF from base, then base works fine. Have tried original drivers and latest drivers on both XP and Vista. Any ideas? -TBH

I made an upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 and my HP Scanjet 4300C seems to be well installed in Windows 7, but nothing happens when I try to scan. Talk about feeling frustrated to the max! We use an HP Scanjet 7450C with a fifty page document feeder and Paperport to archive documents associated with our business. I just upgraded from XP to W7 Pro 64 bit. Now PrecisionScan Pro states "Sorry, scanner could not be initialized. (Scanner not found.)". TBH, I would call HP support about this. Because it worked before you upgraded. Maybe they have an previous version of FW you could try to diagnose if the FW is really the problem.

Yes, it's on a flat surface: on a desk. There's nothing underneath of it and never was. But what is it that hinder the scanbar? I never removed neither the glass nor the case...
