Just bought a 1978 Scamp, all systems are working but it needs some asthetic TLC. Interior is in desperate need of paint. does anyone know what I should use? Also, cushions and covers need replacement, looked at Scamp website but fabric was ugly. Any ideas where to go for that? Appreciate any suggestions.

Hi, I live in northern Florida and am looking to buy a used 13' bolar/scamp camper trailer. Willing to travel if not too far for a great deal. I can't go above a 2000 lb towing capacity because I have a small truck.

I don't recall seeing anything on this in recent history. What sort of door seal does Scamp use from the factory? Our 13' has/had an open cell foam rubber strip stuck around the door opening. I don't know if that was original or installed by the previous owner. Due to the leading edge of the door dragging on it when closing, it had already migrated away from where it was originally ...

Several people have asked me about the modifications I've made to my Scamp door. As many "later" models do, my door was covered with "rat fur." This was in bad shape due to age, leaking window and a bad warp which prevented a snug fit. I decided to try to correct the door problems, as well as "dress up" the look so the door could match my other interior customizations. I've put together ...

The last time we were camping something happened to the rear drop down leg so it no longer will extend or retract back to it's stored short length like it is supposed to. It works fine to get it to drop down from the rear bumper frame but when I try to pull or extend it seems like there is metal or something that will not let it move in any direction so I have to store it extended now. ...

My problem is that I can't have anything hanging lower than the back bumper is now or It would get knocked off when I exit the driveway. Maybe I can add a flange to the top of the bumber and then fasten something outboard behind the bumper. Tired of carrying separate items for stufflike that. Hmmmm! A 10 guage "L" bracket or better yet a "U" shaped piece, welded to the rear of the bumper ...

I have a 2007 Scamp deluxe with a Dometic 3 way frig ( no freezer) In the owners manual it states when on 120V's, the lower the number setting on the control dial the colder the frig will get. This seems backwards to me and I've actually found when operating it, the frig actually gets colder when I set the dial on a HIGHER number like 6 or 7 instead of 1 or 2, just as I would expect. The ...

Hi, new here, from Huntsville, Al. Just acquired my 2nd Bronco, having previously owned a '69 w/ 351 & New Process 4 spd. Have a 1972 Scamp body atop the old Bronco running gear, after a rollover, and some severe rust issues. The present Bronco is a 1990, one-owner, w/ 88,000 miles, Eddie Bauer. I'll need a few miscellaneous pieces for it. Hopefully, I will be able to add some insight to ...

Ok, I have the lil DX-200 Scamp that started overheating, noticed when I opened her, the plugs that attache to the heating element black box had fried wires. I redid the wires with new connectors, but now the element is bad. Where can you get replacement parts for these things? Next...my flash dryer is doing the same thing, but it is smoking when I heat it up to 500, for flash curing. Is the ...

Damaged fiberglass trailer wanted. I am looking for a damaged fiberglass trailer. I am interested in RV-ing. I really want to go fiberglass. I would prefer 13' Casita, or Scamp-type, but will consider any. I can pay up to $2,000 for an intact trailer: meaning it rolls and the shell, windows and door are intact. I can work with a destroyed interior, skunk died inside, water damage; and/...

I have searched around on the forum, but I don't have a clear understanding on this question. Of the 13-foot trailers (primarily Boler, Trillium and Scamp), are any of them more or less likely to get rotted floors? This is the issue I am most worried about in a future trailer purchase, living in a wet climate and all.

Is there any reason other than asthetics between a gloss and satin oil rust-oleum, like durability or something? What do new scamp trailer frames have? I just put on a coat of POR15 today and will be putting on a top coat in 2 days. Thanks

We are in the process of reno on our 13 ft Scamp and we are at the point were we just removed all the old flooring and now have the subfloor. Our new flooring is going to just cover under the table and the main floor. I need some ideas for under the benches. I was thinking about just painting the wood, but now I'm thinking I'd like to have something nicer, maybe carpet or does anyone ...

Parker If you have a local pull your own part junk yard near by you may be able to find a seal there. Sliding van door or rear deck lid seals from a larger car may be long enough. One trailer I bought, the prior owner said that is where he got his door seal from. As Donna stated thickness on the RH side of the door may be a problem. You can help solve this problem by placing aluminum shims...
