This is a great forum. I've been lurking for a while and thought I would introduce myself. (There's an actual question below, honest.) I'm preparing to open a cottage brewery here in Dublin, Ireland, making 1,440 hL in year one, and 2,880 hL in year two. With our Draconian tax and regulatory situations, the only way I can get this off to a decent start is by working single-handedly for two ...

Okay, I'm totally stumped and to the point of extreme frustration because I'm trying to meet a deadline. I started out with an FCP project file (a feature-length film). The film was shot in 4K 2:1 and received an offline edit using the 2K "H" proxies. The editor did LOTS of keyframing (punch-ins, tracking, etc.). The film will be finished in 2K. So, here it goes: 1. I split it up...

My power supply has only 2x6 pin connectors and I have a hard time dropping $400 for any single component so I was thinking I could get a 260 and eventually put my 780i to full use Tripping out the video cards. We already know that SLI scaling with the 200 series is much better than we've seen before, so I was looking around for Tri-...

Quote: Chinese hardware website ChipHell put up preliminary comparisons between the Radeon HD 4870 X2 and a Crossfire X setup using two of these cards to compare the scaling efficiency of these cards when paired in a Crossfire X setup. Readings were put up on a chart. The cards seem to scale up to 104% and in several tests the performance scaling stayed above 50%. ...

I'm profiling an 8-thread OpenMP process on Clovertown (2 socket Xeon X5365) to analyze poor scaling. It seems obvious that the bus is over utilized, but does anyone have any insight into what events etc to look at to try to determine a more exact cause? A few runs so far have yielded: CPI 4.1 Bus Utilization 0.78 Resource Stalls 0.72 Data Bus Util 0.29 Bus Not Ready 0.06 Resource_...

I am working on a set of 10 30-minute videos, which are all a combination of green-screened speaker and graphics created in Motion. I need to do a lot of editing to the footage of the speaker, though, and it seems much better to do that in FCP. It's simple enough for me to stick the graphics from motion on a layer behind that, but I want to be able to zoom in and out on the "space" to ...

Thats true to a point as well. Look as the common res in 2005. The 7800GTX tied with a 9770 wont play any better than on a 1.6 C2D dual either. You see you have to approach this from both ends, since both have the potential of becoming the "bottleneck". Obviously, the 7800GTX wont gain a thing from a 9770. But, a 4870x2 will not only gain from a 9770, bot oc it, and ...

Thanks, and good luck to you, too! Coming from the ultimate dental chicken, RSP isn't bad at all. Hope it works well for you. Best of luck.
