My O/H is thinking of opening up 2 accounts for her grandkids but don't see them due to falling out with her daughter. I have been told that a birth certificate is required to open an account but in this case, it's not possible due to reasons stated above. Is there any other way that this can be overcome so that she can get the accounts ready for Xmas and the future without encountering any...

Love ING Direct. Their interface is very easy to use. They usually don't have the highest rates, but an extra 0.1% on what I have in my emergency fund isn't worth bothering with.

A few days ago I tried to enter online instructions to reinvest part of a bond when it matures but was told that I had not selected the new account type when I had. The problem occurred both with Firefox and IE. I didn't investigate further and decided instead to withdraw all of the money when the time comes.
