I'm writing some text with TextEdit. When I finish I click Save As and after a few seconds get the pinwheel. After a few minutes of the pinwheel I force quit and restart TextEdit. As soon as the new TextEdit opens its got the same text in it that I tried to save. Should be a blank window, right? Tried to clear that text and save a blank file and get another pinwheel. Can't use TextEdit ...

Hi, I'm using VB2008 express, and I want to save my project: "VBprogram_V1" as "VBprogram_V2" and then make changes to the Version 2 program. But there is no command in the File menu to do it. If I just copy my project folder to a new folder and give it a different name, vb gives me a headache with heaps of errors I don't understand. Maybe "Save as..." is in the commercial versions of VB??? ...

Hi For some odd reason I cannot save a (new) file in MSWord because the "save as" frame is larger than the screen size on my notebook. Because of this, the space for the "File name" and "Save as Type" panels - and the "Save" or "Cancel" boxes cannot be reached. When trying to push the frame higher on the page so that I can access and enter data into those panels and boxes, it will ...

Just installed AI CS4. Can anyone tell me which format is better to save in? I would normally opt for .ai but love the compatibility of .pdf. What would I lose by saving files as .pdf? Thanks!

I recently read a post about someone with the same problem...I'm trying to save my (mail) merged docs to multiple files so that they're not all in one file. I followed the instructions and the link given by Doug Robbins to a site by (I believe) Graham Mayor that lists step by step instructions for a Macro that is supposed to do exactly ...

If I take an Excel file and Save it as a CSV in Excel 2003 the blank rows from the Excel file show up on the CSV as blank rows (no commas show in that row) But when I save the same file in Excel 2007 (which we recently upgraded) the blank rows from Excel show up as about 15 commas on the CSV file. There are also other rows ...

After running some VBA code on an Excel file, I'd like to save the file under a different name, but without saving the code. Is this possible? Alternatively I could copy the worksheet into a new file, but I need to keep all the formatting including column widths & row heights. Thanks, Gordon Rainsford ....

Re: Save as quirk in VBA I may have to spend some more time on the machine in question. I'm using Excel 2003, but I think the machine in question is using Excel 2000. On my machine it seems to be saving correctly, no matter how I open the file. The code in question is housed in the template file, and no it's not an xlt file, it's ...

Yes, and I have interpreted your first one in this way: You are not necessarily on the safe side, if you choose the “binary” option. TTX files display glyph names only for the user’s ...
