How come someone as talented as Sarah Michelle Gellar... hardly ever appears in any good movies?

From what I've read about SMG... she was a bit of a straight A student, did some Tae-Kwon-Do and was also quite the Ice Skater. Buffy the Vampire Slayer was an "AWESOME" show... we all know that... and she was fantastic throughout its 7 seasons. Before that... she won some sort of Daytime Emmy Award for "All My Children"... so she was doing pretty well before the Buffy Phenomenon began....
