I don't have a lot of experience with sports betting and want to know an accurate sample size. For example, NBA over/unders: If a system was developed to calculate these, how many games would be needed to show if it could be successful? Is 1,000 games enough to roughly show the system? Obviously the more games the better and more accurate the test sample will be to real sample. How ...
It has been a long time since I have been asked to (or needed to) conduct an analysis of power. I dug up some online calculators, but maybe I am doing something wrong. For an alpha level of 0.05 (corresponding to 95% confidence interval, I'm assuming), a Cohen's effect level in the middle of .5, and the generally accepted power of .8, these calculators are telling me I only need a ...

Applying a range of results to a different sample size I need to forecast commission estimates. I want to apply a range of results for orders per hour for say 50 agents, and apply that range of results to a different number of agents, so that the results have the same proportions, regardless of the number of agents that I plug in ...

Well, I just bought myself a m-audio firewire 410 and it seems to work for the most part in sonar, soundforge, reason, etc. But I have a couple issues. I am running my korg m3 through the firewire 410 via spdif out. The m3 needs to be audio synced at 48k in order to lock with the firewire 410. Apparently, the m3 needs to be the master, I believe. I'm looking into that, but it seems...

I'm working on a study with a sample of slightly more than 100 adolescents from a detention center. They were interviewed using the PCL, and I'm breaking them down into smaller samples based on their scores for two of the factors (high/high, high/low, low/low, low/high, middle/middle). At any rate, as might be expected, there aren't that many subjects scoring low in one factor and high in the ...

So a test of mean differences or an ANOVA If mean differences then looks like an independence test. If use the following parameters 2-tail test Effect size (d) - .05 (medium) Error (alpha) - .05 Power - .95 (1 - alpha) Equal samples Would need 105 cases per group If an ANOVA 2-tail test Effect size (f) - .25 (medium) Error (alpha) - .05 Power - .95 (1 - alpha) Would need a ...

FYI: I just bought those for my DD. They are not very good for overnight protection. I will go back to Huggies Overnights. So if you get the sample it may be best to use it during the day.

Hi, Technically, a sample size of 300 results in +-5.7% error [19 times out of 20]. Let's assume that sampling is perfect and the distribution in the total population is 50-50% [saying yes-no]. In the first wave you may measure 44.33% [yes], in the second 55.67% [yes]. Note that there is still a chance [1 time out of 20] to measure something out of the range. The smaller the sample the wider ...
