Hi Dianne! I had one more question, ive been landing all the doubles, except for double axel. like i said before i feel the flip is slightly cheated. but i realized that every double that i have besides salchow are cheated too! What small jumps combo have those of you doing your pre-juv or adult silver tests used? I was going to do the waltz-half loop-salchow, until my coach told me it was rather generic and judges would be surprised to see something else. He suggested I do a salchow-half loop-quarter flip-waltz-loop and it was very challenging. What other ideas do you guys have for a small jumps combo?

Hi, I am currently working on the triple toe and triple Salchow and I was wondering if the pectoral muscles help to rotate faster those jumps. Or If it's better to work with other types of muscle to get the triple jumps. I wish you were doing me your comments What type of muscle should we work for sucess those triple jump ?

I plan to start competing on the adult track. But I'm having a little trouble figuring out where exactly I fit in. I have passed preliminary MIF and prepreliminary FS. I can successfully do waltz, salchow, toe loop, half flip, and half lutz. I'm still working on getting a consistent loop. I can do scratch spin and usually get a decent sit spin. These skaters have somewhat comparable competitive records (Ulrich Salchow skated when the only Olys were in summer; they held skating once or twice, but that was it until the '20s). Which of these four only do you think is the GOAT?

my heart goes out to yukari nakano for not qualifying for the olympics after such good past seasons. to tell you the truth, i think she would have faired better at the games than miki ando,.. as well as mao asada skated at nationals, she does not have a triple lutz, triple salchow or triple triple combination in either her short or long program. add on top of that both of her programs this ...

Two things about 1/2 loops: 1. In IJS, using 1/2 loops to create a sequence will actually lose you points. Unless they recently changed it, a sequence of jumps gets a .8 factor. So as difficult as it is to connect a triple toe loop to a triple salchow with a half loop, you lose a bunch of points for doing it. You'd be better off doing 3 sal / 3toe, which is much easier, but worth more. ...

I have not used the Salchow rosen, but I get the same conditions with the rosens that I use. (see post above). They all build up on the strings that need a scrubbie to clean it off. My teacher says that I should be putting less rosen on the bow. ET
