Saccharomyces Cerevisiae in Crohn's?????? Does anyone have any idea what these levels have in relations to Crohns? It seems that they are yeast antibodies, the two most prominent ones being Saccharomyces Cerevisiae IgG and IgA. Also he tested for Atypical pANCA, but it seems it came back negative. This is how my doc helped in ...

Also he tested for Atypical pANCA, but it seems it came back negative. This is how my doc helped in diagnosing me. With a blood test looking for these. Apparently mine were really high which strongly points...

4yo DD was diagnosed with C. Diff last Thursday. She's on some compounded version of metronidazole and benzo.. something-or-other antibiotic. I was just reading that the probiotic Saccharomyces Boulardii is shown as effective against the C. Diff in the intestines/replenishing the "good" stuff in the intestines so it can fight off the C. Diff. Do you have any experience with this? ...

Saccharomyces boulardii - is Florastor worth the cost? My ND is recommending that I start taking Saccharomyces boulardii, and I mentioned Florastor which she agreed would be fine. However, in doing more research about S. boulardii, I notice there are a few brands other than Florastor which seem to ...

Tonight having serious diarrhea and desperate for a cure that is not chemical, did some more research and found that saccharomyces boulardii can be efficient against cryptosporidium. Maybe it would also be efficient against other protozoa. The present invention relates to the use of yeast of the genus Saccharomyces for controlling cryptosporidiosis. Cryptosporidiosis is a ...

Hi Tony or Luella, We am wondering about whether saccharomyces boulardii interacts with other meds. Also, which criteria will say which brand is the best for the purpose. Suppopsedly it is available at many common drug stores. Thanks, Bill

My daughter had these levels taken also in helping to diagnose her last month. Her GI explained it to me that an elevated Saccharomyces cerevisiae is seen in most people with crohn's. It's not a marker for diagnosis but just something they've seen elevated. He had the test done to help him diagnose her along with the other levels. It's a yeast that is elevated evidently. Clear as mud huh, not ...

If lot of people recoomends fermented foods (with yeasts!) and Saccharomyces boulardii... why to avoid other "non pathogenic" yeast if you are not allergyc? What do you think? A person can really be allergic to most anything. Whether or not they have Candida overgrowth is irrelevant since allergies stem from adrenal dysfunction, not Candida overgrowth. So I see no reason to...
