I have been working on my son's '90 900 turbo convertible and am making little to no progress. It just shut off on day and the running became very erratic after that. My Saab starts will run about 5 minutes and quit. Will restart and die, restart and die. If I wait about 10 ten minutes b4 restarting car will run maybe another 5 minutes and starts the restart and die problem. Paul, i have changed the MAP sensor for a second hand one that was guaranteed working the other week, and i think i have changed the coolent temp sensor too in the past. May give the lambda a try and see if it makes any difference. Cars...don't you just love em !!!!!

Second simple reason for illumination of controls not working - burnt out light bulbs. Very possible on a car this old. You will need to access the bulbs to determine if they are brunt out or not. That is the most likely culprit. That may be difficult to get at as I have not worked on a 1996 900. Radio code sounds like it is not being accepted. Is it possible you have the wrong code? I...
