How difficult is it to change out the shift solenoids in a 95 STS

I have a 95 STS and it currently doesn't want to shift out of 1st gear. Its throwing the shift solenoid code. I do not have enough money to take it to a shop. I am mechanically inclined, how difficult is it to change out? Does anyone have any pointer on how to complete this job? I plan on changing both solenoids. Any help will be helpful thanks

I have a 95 STS with the northstar. I just recently bought it and are fixing some of the problems. I have now ran across the motor bogging and fluctuating rpms while im driving it. It doesnt do it to much when I'm on city streets, but it does every time on the freeway. QUESTION: 95 sts- replaced tps and iscm. car peddle was twitching. this problem fixed. The first step in timing a Northstar cam drive is to put #1 cylinder at TDC on the compression stroke. Everything else in the chain/sprocket sequence is dependent on that starting alignment. There is no way to later correct a mis-timed engine without starting from scratch.
