I intend to get the MSI 785GT-E63 to setup a HTPC. Just wondering should I rely on the HDMI connection to deliver my audio or should I connect the optical SPDIF output to my AV receiver for my audio? Which method would produce the best audio output? What happens if I connect both to my AV Receiver? Any form of assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

Ok here is my setup: - My SPDIF Output looks like a normal headphone jack ( http://www.xoticpc.com/laptop/9280/92805.jpg ) - A40 MixAmp, which I can connect to with either RCA (Red and White) or Coax (Orange) or TOSLink. - A pair of Sennheiser HD555 My computer doesn't have Coax as a digital output nor TOSLink, so I'm left with this weird SPDIF Output. I've tried putting a 3.5mm stereo ...

I was building a new rig and noticed that when I plugged in the SPDIF cable into the card that the actual plug seems to be loose (seems to jiggle). I guess I wont be using HDMI right now, but I was plugging in the cable for future use. Does anyone else have a loose plug on their card? The card works fine but just want to make sure my card isn't damaged.

TBAAM outputs 48 KHz SPDIF only, and my DAC can't swallow anything above 44.1KHz so I'm stuck You're getting a decent ultra-portable USB DAC + amp combo (TTAAM) for any USB>SPDIF 44.1 transcoder ($25 on ****). Optical or TOSLINK doesn't matter, will be re-clocked either way Let me know. Thanks.

Someone said to me, one units SPDIF can sound better than another's? Now this confused me, as I thought, given the same digital source, all both devices would do is transfer than same (unchanged) digital data down the optical cable? How can either unit make it sound better or worse?

Does it exist? I am not even trying to get a battery-powered portable DAC\AMP with spdif with descent sound anymore (I mean something better than ibasso, which I consider rather entry-level). I am ready to get a mini-dac\amp (a size of h140 or something like that) with external 12V supply and build a battery pack. What I need is a good quality (OK, OK, I am not trying to get an audiophile sound, ...

I am in the process of upgrading the Video on a Compaq Presario: System Model RZ537AA-ABA SR5010NX (Windows Vista Home Basic with 1.5GB Memory (currently) and 3.46GHz processor). This system has the 945GCT-HM (Livermore -GL6) motherboard. I have looked through the forums and googled, but I could not find anything specific to this motherboard and SPDIF Audio. I am installing a: ...

Hey all. I'm looking to replace my SB Audigy 2 with a card that actually works well with Linux (see: get constant static out of PCM channel). I only have a spare coax input on my receiver which is what the current card is plugged into. One that I found is this Asus card: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...IN#detailsp ecs It seems a little pricey for my needs but has ...

I have a Pavilion dv2910US with the Conexant HD Smartaudio 221. I thought I should be able to record streaming audio, but when I go to the control panel and open sound, on the playback tab I have speakers and SPDIF interface listed, but on the recording tab I only have the Microphone. I've tried making sure I have enabled show disabled & disconnected devices, but nothing shows but the ...

Well, I just bought myself a m-audio firewire 410 and it seems to work for the most part in sonar, soundforge, reason, etc. But I have a couple issues. I am running my korg m3 through the firewire 410 via spdif out. The m3 needs to be audio synced at 48k in order to lock with the firewire 410. Apparently, the m3 needs to be the master, I believe. I'm looking into that, but it seems...
