Coming up through all the upgrades starting with SONAR 8 Studio I accumulated soft synths that I used quite a bit before "improvements" were made. Faithfully I upgraded to 8.0 Producer then 8.5 Producer. Recently I decided to go to Win7 64 bit. That called for a new PC. Like anyone would do I simply used the 8.5 PE DVD for the install. I didn't go and re-install all the previous versions ...

It's a nice tutorial but the volume of it is too low on my laptop. It would be nice if Roland authorized a Sonar tutorial book and examples CD much like Apple does with Logic! If this was the case, this forum probably wouldn't be as big!

I just upgraded my PC to Win 7 and started installing all the software. I was wondering what the "recommended" way to install Sonar 8.5 Producer is? Is there any way to install 8.5 without installing 8.0 before? Erik.

Hey there Yesterday i recived all the "parts" for my new audio computer. i assembled the "parts" and installed windows 7 with nemo problemo WIN7, CORE7,12 GIG RAM, 3 TERRA ETC. ETC. My old edition of Sonar has been working fine but now it takes ages to process audio clips/ FX etc.. (up to 2mins!)Ive done nothing or added nothing to the PC except the hard drive is now over 50% full could that be it..would extra RAM help or is it the CPU ?...

I've been using cakewalk & sonar since 1995, but I've never used perfect space - is it any good? I'm planning on using it with some of the excellent impulses from Kontakt 4. I am using Sonar 7 Producer and I installed Ministry of Rock (MOR) in the folder C:Program Files/Cakewalk/vstplugins ( when I open the folder I can see play_VST.dll). The problem is that I can't find MOR as an VST in Sonar! As a standalone MOR opens and I can hear the sounds when I play with my midi keyboard as a standalone. Please this is not a topic for the "why do you need it"... We all know what it does and what its for, so my question is, anyone found a mod or hack to enable it in Sonar ? Any reason why this has not been implemented in Sonar yet ?...

Hi, everyone, I'm considering an upgrade to Sonar 8.5. It's only $99 for me to upgrade to the Studio edition, and it seems that the only difference is plugs and the new matrix view. Since I have all of the plugs I need (or want), and not sure how dependent I'd be on the matrix view (though it does sound nice), would I be losing out on much by going with the Studio version?...

I am running Win7 and Sonar 8.5 both 64 bit. I have loaded all of my VST soft synths, and all seem to work fine. The last 2 plugins are DirectX versions of Antares Microphone Modeler and Antares Kantos 1.0. Is there a way to get these working with my setup in 64 bit?
