Sorry for posting in this topic but I thought this audience would be best to assist me. I am looking for a recommendation on a quality "mail relay" company that will allow me to securely route email messages through temporarily if my exchange server goes down. The messages routed would simply be notification messages to support staff to inform them of a problem. Obviously I cannot route ...

Dear All, If you use Sky Broadband as your ISP, and fall into the following category :- 1. Have an email address other than @sky. 2. Use Outlook (various versions) Up until recently my father had a tiscali.co.uk account, which happily worked sending and receiving. (pop server = pop.tiscali.co.uk) (SMTP server = myowndomain.co.uk). Sending emails ...

Hi. I have a new machine with windows 7 ready to go but do not especially like Windows Mail. Thought to checkout Thunderbird - loaded on current XP machine to import settings from Outlook Express. However I am unable to edit the outgoing server settings , I get a drop down box with a selection of servers but cannot change details. This works for at least 3+ ISP's with OE6 me@...
I recently downloaded Outposted which collects info from websites and then sends it to my email. However in the settings when I placed smtp.gmail.com as my smtp server and the port as 25 it gave me the following error... 5.7.0 Must issue a STARTTLS command first. (followed by random numbers and letters) I have enabled POP3 on my gmail account but somehow it does not work. I'm not ...

Does anyone know if there's an alternative (besides gmails servers) to using smtp-proxy.tm.net.my? All the emails I've sent this week have failed to reach their destination, as it seems the relay server is again failing to work properly.

we have no problems with clients sending out 100k's of email as long as they are legit, within the anti-spam rules, and unsubscribes etc are respected. IF we have issues though, like blacklistings etc, we are very fast to shut down offenders. We have a few large emailer's already, and they tend to use daily nodes a lot when they need to increase the mailouts/hour. D

Thanks for your reply Kim, I actually had it working before my server company decided to upgrade my server (without telling me, so I have been picking up the pieces ever since). The only thing I can figure is that it went from php4 top php5 and possibly a security upgrade. I have requested my server company look at it as they created the issue but as yet have heard nothing (only a day ago). I ...

The account that is used to send the email alert does not have a mailbox on our exchange server. It is actually a fake address on our domain. The monitoring program that we used allow us to make up a "From" address. Typically these alerts get routed through our exchange server, but if the exchange server is down I need an alternate route to send these alerts messages through.

Thats great, a different 'allowed' SMTP server would be the best method here. I have not looked at the SMTP port number yet for Sky user, but I will check it out.

Have you configured postfix for smtp authentication? If it is, then you will need to configure evolution for the same as well. Check for the configurations at both the ends.

The problem is that amazon addresses for AWS are in the spamhaus.org PBL list. So the godaddy SMTP servers are checking the list. You can't take your address out of the list.
