Hello Experts, I sending mail using smtp server...I am using smtpclient.Host="localhost" and smtpclient.port=25 , But gives authentication error ....Tel me how will i know my smtp server name or any common host and port also... and also give error -"Property 'To' is ReadOnly." for this line msg.to = txtTo.Text Help me!!

Does anyone know how to setup an SMTP Server on your home computer or if this is even possible? I talked to a company that offers smtp service and they want a lot of money and I am trying to avoid that high of a cost. hi everone, we need to create another SMTP virtual server to relay mails to internet, we create this and add that SMTP virtual server in Smart host but it gives me unable to relay error error code 5.7.1 is there any other configuaration is required for SMTP Virtual server regards jeevan singh

Would you use my own .NET SMTP server ? I get the feeling that this probably isnt the best place to post this, but the forum says "drop in here to discuss anything related to VB.NET" and this is definitely only related to VB.NET and not VB6 or anything. Anyway, if its in the wrong place then feel free to move it mods/admins ...

we have no problems with clients sending out 100k's of email as long as they are legit, within the anti-spam rules, and unsubscribes etc are respected. IF we have issues though, like blacklistings etc, we are very fast to shut down offenders. We have a few large emailer's already, and they tend to use daily nodes a lot when they need to increase the mailouts/hour. D

There are tons of SMTP servers out there, like Sendmail and Postfix just to mention two. Chances are though that if you're not a spammer, you'd be better of using a legit service, like MailChimp or Campaign Monitor. That way you are much less likely to get caught in spam filters.
