SDD for OS I have been thinking of purchasing a small SSD just to install the OS on and using an HDD for all other items. What is everyone's thought on SSD here? Thanks,

I got a panasonic cf-25, one of the first toughbooks. I got it with 16 mb of ram and upgraded it to 64mb, and switched out the 2gb hdd for s 2gb sdd. I highly doubt it, but i'd like to know if it's possible.

BOUGHT A BIT OF SDD THIS MORNING AT $29.45. JUST WORRIED ABOUT THINGS. THIS WILL HELP LEVEL OUT MY LONG POSITIONS IN THE EVENT OF SOMETHING BAD HAPPENING OUT THERE!!

Something around $100 that will give me both performance and high capacity. I don't want something like a raptor nor SDD. Just something big, fast (relatively) and reliable. Any suggestions?

I was just thinking.... When a HDD immediately loses power, the HDD head can crash on the platter causing permenant damage to the disk and corruption of data. Now I realize a power surge would kill an SDD as much as it would an HDD, but would a power OUTTAGE actually cause any damage to an SSD??? I would assume not, maybe some lost files that were in ...
