Hi, I am considering moving from a 384kbs line that I have with cybersmart to a 4mbs line with SAOL. The gig for life offers seems interesting. I would like to hear from someone that are also using this service, if they are delivering good speeds at the moment? Thanks

quick question. I've got a SAOL.com all in one account that apparently uses SAIX. I've tried connecting to news.saix.net, but it keeps on timing out. (news.is.co.za give me a connection refused, which is expected) i've turned off windows firewall off, and made sure port 119 is open on my router... any ideas?

Hey I am with SAOL, and I have tried just about everything to download nzb's but to no avail (on local and intl cap). SAOL uses SAIX bandwidth. Does anyone have the same problem or has anyone heard of people having the same problem? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

For those of you wanting to switch to Screamer as your ISP, I would hold off for a while... They do not allocate public IP addresses to their ADSL capped clients. I am currently running with SAOL and have been for a while now. When connecting with them we where allocated a 196.XXX.XXX.XXX address. Last night I decided I wanted to test out SEACOM and Screamer and applied for an ...

I'm in the same situation, but now SAOL is offering uncapped 384k for R499 including line rental, might call them up later and switch to it. Only thing I'm worried about is that they will be using Seacom for the international, and I've seen those guys that went onto Screamer who also uses Seacom for international, were having lots of problems!! Thinking maybe I should wait for the Digichilli ...

Thank You for the feedback. @RavenServers I run a member site for PLR and MRR products on Dreamhost servers which requires me to download and upload about 6 to 8GB per month. I also host the Delavo system for members which includes support, private forum, helpdesk and access to the management system of Delavo - also hosted on Dreamhost. SO total data transfer is about 10 ...

I wouldn't! - too slow! - at least, not for a month or two for things to settle on their end, and so far I've read that they're not even reaching their promised speeds! 11 - 17kbs on a 384k when they promise minimum roughly 30kbs... not so hot!. Go with SAOL if you want reliable Uncapped!
