I have some rootkits virus in my computer. I am scanning my computer regularly but still they are detected. What is the danger of running this rootkits in a system. I have a Windows system with a free version of Antivirus. And if it is really not good to keep this files then how to remove them.

Must have downloaded some malware Dec. 8, as PC was slowing/freezing, and needed to be unpowered and rebooted several times. Updated free versions of Malwarebytes and AVG.
