Having a strange problem. I have 2 HDDs in my system. On the Windows drive (second drive), I am unable to rename any files or folders within the \ folder. For example, I can create a folder in D:\, and it gives it the default "New Folder" name, but if I try to rename it, it tells me that it's in use by another program. I have a site (let's say www.example.com ) and I want to change where it looks for the root files. Currently it looks in /public_html/ but I would like it to point to /public_html/folder1/ I am trying to figure out how to do this with my .htaccess file, but to no avail. Can anybody help out? I'm sure it's something simple

Hi when i try to update to version 2.8.6 i get this error Unable to locate WordPress Root directory. and when i try to instal a theme i get this error, Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content). , Does anybody know how i can fix these errors ? and i defiantly have these folders in my webserver, (byethost.com).

I have an TOMTOM XL330 and the another night I was downloading a poi file from the POI Factory and I placed the file accidently in the root directory of the XL330 . Now how do I remove the file from the directory . when use del cmd it says the file is not there( I am coping it exactly as give in the dir listing ? thanks in advance.

Hello, i recently took over a site (www.investorsbeyondborders.com I made a new site temporarily under aboutus.investorsbeyondborders.com When i instill wordpress using fantastico, i try selecting the 'investorsbeyondborders.com' site and it says I cannot install over the root directory. I have a web hosting account and had them install Joomla but it isn't in the root directory so I currently to have the "/joomla" in the web address. Do I just copy all the files from the Joomla folder it created to the root directory and getting rid of the original welcome.html page?
