Well I know Massachusetts isn't all THAT far north compared to some of our members, but we do have our share of cold weather, and that means lots of snow from December-March. What it also means is lots and lots of salt that lingers on the roadways until at least April when the streetsweepers get out to clean up after the mess winter leaves behind. John K.Samson of The Weakerthans has released his debut solo EP, City Route 85 . The three song EP is the first of a series of recordings based on the roadways surrounding Samson's hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and it will be available as either a vinyl 7-inch or a digital download. Last week Clark talked about the great new cable style guard rails now being installed alongside some of our roadways. He went on to explain how these cheaper cable guard rail systems make our roads much safer, he's right, unless you ride a motorcycle. The new cheaper cable systems act as a cheese slicer for a rider who has the bad luck to go through the cables. I ...

What is a safe RPM range for say 20-30 minutes down the highway? He is running a 15-48 gear combo for off road power but down the highways it is really ringing ...

I have never liked the term vehicular cycling have never liked John Forester's definition of it. To me vc means a cyclist who only rides as a vehicular cyclist never uses a bike lane, MUP, shoulder, etc when riding. They only ever ride on roadways in the travel lane regardless of other existing and available facilities. They assert what they ...

> After 2 years of great service, crossing the European roadways, the speaker on my 660 has finally packed up! It went all fuzzy on me a month ago and now doesn't work at all. Although the unit is still useable via the onscreen directions, I would like to still have the speaker so I don't need to take my eyes of the road! (not advised if you are driving in Italy and Greece!!) ...

I've had a few "Oh Crap!!" moments from wind conditions. It happens to me on elevated roadways at 80-90mph. It will get your attention, but I like it!!!!
