I have a 2008 XLR-V with road noise coming from the driver's side. It began at around 4000 miles. It has 9000 now and the dealer changed the back tire thinking it was cupped but that didn't cure the problem.. Anyone else have anything similar?

This was copied from the speaker installation sticky thread so as not to hijack that thread with soundproofing discussion. Trying to figure out how to make my 86 Mustang quieter on the inside of the car while I drive it. Road noise, rattles, etc. Should I put dynamat all over the car under the carpet? Does it help to put some in the doors? Any help would be appreciated. TIA

Hi there, i've recently purchased a 07 ST-3 and when driving on motorways and other roads if i go above 40-50 the car makes an unbearable hum, murmur, vibration what ever you want to call it, its driving me insane, im sure other ST's that i've driven haven't been as bad as this. I recently put new tyres on the back which i've just had swapped to the front to see if that makes any...

Having moved from a pre-facelift petrol vrs hatch to a facelift diesel vrs estate, I've noticed the new car seems to suffer with more road noise. Anyone else noticed this? As part of the weight saving did they reduce the sound insulation?! I'm hoping its the tyres Continental SportContact 2. Anyone added extra sound insulation to their vrs?

My '02 LS with 124K miles has a noise coming from the driver's side front suspension area that is similar in quality and loudness to a bad wheel bearing. The noise does not vary with a change in direction. The noise first appeared faintly and gradually grew in intensity. I just replaced the hub assembly because the wheel had play on the spindle. The hub was new from Team Ford. This ...

Your tires can be damaged, try putting the fronts on the back and see if it makes a difference. I'm thinking your front (old) tires are feathering. I have this same problem on my suv, my friend at the tire shop suggested not to put it on the front because it will cause even more vibration. So he kept it on the rear, and while driving at high speeds I have a really loud humming noise. By ...

You'll most likely get an answer but I have no idea how soon it will be. All I know about the XLR is not to be stupid enough to race one again. Damn car beat me pretty bad. Things to check would be door latch, Make sure it's letting the door close completely, making a tight seal and also, check to make sure the rubber surround is all in place where it needs to be.

The floors, IMO, takes the longest of them all. I've finally finished it and the four doors, woot woot. All is left is the trunk and the wheel wells. For the floors, you can do it yourself as it's not hard but require some dedicated time. Expect it to be a project. Without any experience, it took a couple hours to remove the seats and take out the carpet. You just have to remove the ...

Huh?? If you think front wheel drive is the reason then why would the noise be coming from the back? Arvind wrote: I have a 1999 CR-V EX and it's so noisy that neither you can listen to the radio nor you can carry on a conversation. I have a good set of Michelin but noise seems to be coming from the rear axle-may be FWD is the reason!
