I have a large Hudson Bay camp knife that I am making which I used brass washers and brass pins for rivets. I would like to be able to have the riveted heads stand "proud" as they say so they stand out from the washers. My question is how do I prevent or deal with the problem of the rivet heads developing sharp edges on it as it's formed? I will include a photo of the knife so you can see what ...

Folks: When building (or fixing) your plane, you'll probably need to remove and reset a bunch of rivets. For best structural integrity, you probably should re-do any rivet that seems even the least bit marginal. The best and safest way to remove a pulled rivet without damaging the surrounding material or the hole is to: Punch out the rivet mandrel. Carefully drill off the rivet ...

hey can someone just verify that this is the right part i need a few new expanding rivets for the zhp side skirts. The ones that popped off when the jack slipped are about the size of a half dollar at the top. I found what looks to be the right part on pelican parts but I don't have a diagram in order to confirm the part number. Once again they are the expanding rivets on the bottom side of the...

I live in a townhouse with a one car garage. The garage adjoins the neighbor's garage. My condo association rules have something about "general nuisance" so it's a pretty broad category to catch things like riveting My question is, what % of rivets can you squeeze? I imagine you cannot do much when putting the skins on but I was curious anyway. I plan to do a test in the next few ...

I riveted the canopy to the canopy frame over a week ago. Tonight I discovered a bag of aluminum pop rivets that were intended for the canopy. Oops, I installed standard CS4 rivets. The CS4 rivets seemed to work fine. Is there any problem leaving those in? I'm guessing the alumuminum ones are softer but now that's it's done I hate to drill all of them out and risk damaging something. Plus ...

I am replacing the windshield on my R100S and I can't get the center pin on the plastic rivets to seat all the way down. They go about half way and stick. Any ideas? Thanks, Brad Kuhn

I have a set of G3 "alpinist" skins (little metal hook tips) that I'd like to use on Mrs. C.'s skis. Problem is, they're a little too long -- they're marked as being for "170-180 cm" skis, and I need them to fit 167cm K2 Chiefs. They already have the G3 STS-style tail kit attached to the tails. I know I can cut off the G3 tails and buy a Black Diamond STS kit to get the stretchy rubber ...

I think you can get the stock rivets from Reno Mt. Sports. Just drill out the old ones and use a ball peen hammer to hammer the stock rivets flat. Make sure you hammer on a hard surface like the top of a vise or anvil.

So here are a few photos: no date code, non tampered rivets note the painted gas cap passenger side tampo is slightly crooked acutal case that came with this ...

There is a piece of black plastic under the front of our cars, attached with plastic rivets to the front fascia. I recently scraped it off of the front of my 00 ES while driving in ice and snow, and I'm wondering if I need to replace it. What purpose does it serve other than warning me that I am scraping the curb when I park?

some quick pics of the Rs6 front grill mod: removing the lower support bar some people used a dremel but but I used a grinder (for ceramic) took less than 10 minutes to remove, just have to be cautious. i went straight for the rivets (no drilling them out) and sliced them with the grinder I can post better pics if anybody needs some
