For the first time, I went to the Cruise Critic River & Canal Cruises board and came across a thread mentioning a very recent review of a Danube cruise on the AMA Amalyra--it took place in June of this year and went in the reverse direction of the one that Ngaire and Ken are escorting next September. I really thought it was worth posting the link to this review. It is very long, but it is ...

This is a old cargo boat that is converted to be a passenger boat. There is nothing to see on this cruise. The people working on the boat are nice but besides that there is nothing worth on this boat ride....

My wife and I will be spending several days in southwest Germany next fall. We plan on 3 nights in Cochem and would like to take a short (1/2 day?) cruise from there on the Mosel, possibly to Beilstein or even Zell. We will have a car, so could possibly drive to a different town to embark. We would also consider one-way and taking the train back. Any suggestions? Thanks

It is my boyfriends birthday and I have booked the Loy Nova sunset cruise at 6pm. I was hoping to go somewhere really nice for cocktails after the cruise. Does anyone recommend Vertigo or Sirrocco for drinks only? and also as it will be 8.30 pm when we get there will the view still go good? Any other recommendations very much appreciated - thank you

We will be taking the Viking river cruise out of Amsterdam to Budapest in July. We arrive in Amsterdam the night prior to boarding the ship. I suspect the best transportation to the hotel from the airport is a taxi. What hotels would you suggest we stay and be close to the port for the viking river cruise? Thanks, janines

We (4 of us) are signed up for a Russia River Boat cruise in May from Moscow to St. Petersburg on the Peterhof. We decided to go despite the reviews of so-so food and needing to buy our own wine (sounds as if the comp wine - 2 glasses/dinner - requires a developed taste). Before booking flights, we have a few questions that hopefully we can get some help: - how far is it from the ...

Well, i just found one but i know nothing about it - it does look very nice and if you are interested you could do some searching for reviews. I found it while checking on something else. It is open year round, has a beautiful view and looks to be indoor up high. atlantehotels.com/English/…home_Eng.htm

The cruises give a wider range of experiences from the convict settlement, a bit of wilderness, the scenic beauty of a magnificent harbour and some foody indulgence, thru to modern salmon fisheries in a very flash boat. The train is more intimate; a close encounter with an historic train, with a more in-depth experience of the the wilderness, travelling further into the bush....

pgwickstrom Hotels and hostels in Chongqing sell tickets for the cruises, or places such as Sims in Chengdu do as well. http://gogosc.com/enly_tours.asp Agree with john555 - it will be cool to cold, very grey, and quite boring being on the boat.

I am a towboater meaning that I ride on towboats on the inland rivers of the United States. The "Old Boats" column of the Nov 16,2009 "Waterways Journal" asked for help in identifying where USS Concord, a third class cruiser,in 1892 had made port visits along the Mississippi and other Rivers during that time. The starting time given was April 27,1892 for arrival in New Orleans,La and May ...
