Hi everyone, My name is Jamie and I'm 27 years old. I recently decided to start college, a little late obviously but better late than never. Yesterday I spoke to my family doctor about the possibility I have ADD. I know for a fact I don't have any type of hyperactivity, but after hearing my wife speak about someone at her work who has it and her ...

Is anyone using stimulants to study more efficiently? I get them prescribed but the side effects I get are a lack of appetite and sweat more. Does have any advice for the appetite thing? The meds just make food not enjoyable at all, and when food does not taste good, or feel good, it is just damn IMPOSSIBLE to force it down.

One of my old Rugby mates brother is about 17 and has pretty bad ADHD hes also been on Ritalin for a couple of years to calm him down. Now hes never really bothered with the gym but wants to start now, and i know Ritalin calms and mellows you out but how does it do this? Will it reduce hormones and effect his training? I looked all over the web and cant really find much, so i thought ...

Before 10-year-old Tyler N. began taking medication for ADD, he and his mother had devised a creative way to help him focus on his homework. After school, he'd run laps around the yard before sitting down to complete his math homework. And if he really got antsy or unable to focus, it was back to the yard for a few more laps. Tylera smart, articulate fifth-grader who enjoys every subject at...

I'm no doctor and I'm not trying to promote Ritalin or anything but I thought I should share my experience with the two drugs and recommend trying Ritalin to anyone who isn't liking Strattera. To me it feels like going from drinking turpentine to champagne. Strattera didn't help my concentration at all, it took 3 weeks to find out whether it was going to work ...

Has anyone experienced tiredness on Ritalin, or drowsiness. I have been taking effexor for years and my psychiatrist has added ritalin because I tend to sleep too much. I know that it is unusual for ADHD, but I have gotten the AdhD dignosis many times before and ritalin usually helps. Right now, I am just sleeping excessively. Not coming down from it, but not ...

Mmm ill try to help as best i can, been studying the chemical side of things and finding it very interesting. The way i see it is lactose just isn't a suitable cutting agent as it is ultimately making your salt more hygroscopic (wrong word i know). Case in point, im assuming your problem is you just aren't sealing your salts properly. Or, the solvents in your drugs are dissolving the ...

Ludes Vet, outstanding and accurate post. Thank you for your info here, helping to cut through the disinformation regarding these types of medicines. As to the "cocktail" medications for ADD/ADHD, how about this "oldie," long gone from the US market: OBETROL 20 mg IR>>>each pill contained: 5 mg. methamphetamine saccharate 5 mg. methamphetamine hydrochloride 5 mg. amphetamine sulfate 5 mg. ...

Well I don't know about that, when I was in class, I studied and learned, when school was out I played with the other kids on the block who got home from school at around the same time. Homeschooling isn't exactly a last ditch effort, it's an option, just like the choice of private schooling, public schooling isn't the only way, it's just the most available way, even so, the public ...

thats what amphetamines do. they are stimulants. it shouldnt go away with normal doses. either try and force it down or just lean out. on the bright side u will have a lot of energy. they are kinda like steroids in the respect. on that note, does anyone have any info on the affects of using amphetamines like that to workout?

I have seriously severe ADHD. I do find that, while it isn't as effective as medication, exercise or doing something fun is helpful in controlling some of my trouble concentrating. When I used to weight train, I felt a lot better focusing on my work. I'm going to start up again soon.
