Ripley is one of, if not the, best expressed/executed heroines in film. So many times movies with a female hero try way too hard, and give her masculine traits that are supposed to qualify her as the "hero". Someone mentioned we could get rid of Claire by dropping her into a vat of molten metal, like in T2. I added they did the same in Alien3 with Ripley. A while back we were watching Aliens, and at the end of it, when Ripley's hanging on to the ladder while the queen's hanging on to her foot with the powerloader on top of her, and my bro looks over at me and says "Man, if I was that strong, I'd woulda climbed outta that loader and kicked that alien's ass myself."
