My mother passed away in 2000 and my brother & I found 2 .32 revolvers in her closet. I had a friend clean & oil them and they've been in a case ever since. I know I could spend $100 and have S&W send me the history, or spend $40 and buy a catalog but I cannot afford it. Can someone give me the approximate ages? #1- S/N 3221_, chrome in color, 5 1/4" barrel (I left off the last ...

Looking for conservatively priced Revolvers. I'm looking at the potential of picking up a revolver or two for my collection and fun at the range, but not looking to get too crazy into them. My only experience with the type is from a S&W 642 w/ Crimson Trace grip. I'm looking at a sub $400 range, caliber is a non issue. Thanks ...

I'm a S&W fan, especially of their revolvers. I've shot a 629 but have never owned one. I have two model 10's, one stock the other highly customized. I'm very pleased with both and never had a problem with either.

Which kind of hand gun do you perfer? I have two revolvers,a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 magnum and a Smith & Wesson model 15 ,38 special. I have been toying with the idea about buying a semi-auto,but I just like revolvers better.Maybe it\'s just me,I\'m old fashioned,I like my guitars made with wood and revolvers made with steel. The more I look at semi-autos,the more makes me want one.But because ...

On the Outdoor Channel Charter Arms has a pretty good advertisement where they say "when your life is on the line aren't you glad you kept it simple". I thought that was a pretty good ad and a good point made for revolvers.

Interesting to see that a professional speed demo revolver guy, Jerry Miculek, uses HiViz sights on his revolvers. I'm guessing he could use any sight he wants. In video clips, they seem to aid quick target acquisition. Any drawbacks to Hi Viz sights such as durability in the field, cold weather tolerance, stuff like that? Thanks.

This is more of a personal curiosity question than anything. I have no (ok, some, but not serious ) interest in owning a gun like what I'm asking about, but I do want to know what's out there. What are the smallest .44 magnum revolvers out there? I'm talking along the lines of a snub-nose, like the .357 j-frames for example. Something designed to be easily pocket concealed, while ...

I am slightly turned on by old Smith revolvers. I can't really explain it. I like the looks, and feel of old M27s, M28s, M29s, 57s and the like. The old guns were built by craftsmen. The lines of the old Highway Patrolman do something for me, as it was one of the first handguns I ever shot. Then growing up I had to "settle" for old K frame Model 19s and M66s cause I couldn't afford an N ...

Prior to the 1980ish time period, I always wondered why the majority of American law enforcement adopted the revolver instead of the then current military M1911 service pistol........With that said; 1. What were the attributes of the "SERVICE REVOLVER" that made it more favorable to LE over the semiautomatic M1911 pistol in service with the military? 2. What were the ...

I am looking to buy firearms from the following list. I plan on shooting any of the guns I may buy. They will not sit in a safe. So, I don't need a pristine condition gun (although if the price is right I won't turn it down either). My preference is something reasonably priced in the 85%-90% range. This is what I am looking for: Colt Revolvers - Trooper (first generation), .357, Official ...

When I heard that Charter Arms was bringing out a revolver chambered for .45ACP, I decided to build a bullet just for it. This new revolver is designed to use .45ACP rounds without full moon clips. I constructed a 250 grain bullet with a bonded core and a cup point. I wanted a projectile that could be fired at very low velocities and yet give consistent expansion. I loaded a .45ACP casing ...

I am well aware of the many slams on Rossi and such, but also have some feed back that seem to think Rossi revolvers are fine for what they are. Would like to hear from many what their opinion of the Rossi revolvers are as HD ONLY? I dont think I'd wish to use one for CC, but for that night table, what do most of u think?

Its time once again to make room in the gun safe. Sadly I have decided to sell my NightHawk Custom GRP 1911. I have enjoyed shooting this gun in IDPA matches but it is time for me to move on to other platforms, revolvers maybe. I am the original owner of this weapon and bought it new from a NightHawk Custom dealer in VA Beach two years ago. I have carried it a few times as a concealed ...

EDITED - I found an online version of the FA97 manual and discovered that the 97's have a transfer bar safety. Please disregard this post. Hi All, A local shop has several Freedom Arms revolvers (83's and 97's) and they are beautiful works of art. I've read that FA revolvers do not have a trigger activated firing pin block. Instead, it has a safety position for the hammer (...
