Finally after the long process of troubleshooting this ignition system It ended up being the rev limiter that was bad not allowing the boat to run. So I bought a new one yesterday and put it on. I took the boat out today and it ran amazing. But then somehow the rpm limiter box got shorted out or something because now it's doing the same thing. What would cause this to happen. I can't keep buying...

Just curious. I'm not a mechanic or anything. I hit my rev limiter pretty good last week when i had the stereo up too loud and couldn't hear the engine. Just for a second or two and it seems like it has been acting funny since then. Was wondering iff it was my imagination or if it could have actually done something. Also, I am looking for some upgrades for my 2004 BMW 330CI if anyone has any....

You must not know much about exhausts.... You listed headers, then downpipe right below it. Double cost? Long tube headers replaces both the stock manifolds (coming right off the heads of motor), as well as what the downpipe would replace (precats and such) So it goes either: Stock manifolds -> downpipe -> then cat or test pipe -> 2.5" exhaust piping Long tube headers -> then cat or tp...

On a stock Vette it should not hurt the motor when it hits the limiter. the limiter is there to protect the motor. It's probably not a good idea to keep bouncing off of the limiter though. The folks with modded motors are the ones who really have to be careful because many builds have the tunning programmed to rev up to and sometimes past 6500 RPM. Alot depends on the ...

Yes, its always good to get a straight answer. My motor is a stock XRI 200 and it does run out of steam around 58-5900. I had it at 6100 with a smaller prop but it was drinking gas big time. If Irun it around 55-5700 it is pretty good on fuel. It actually pulls pretty good from an idle to 5800 so im happy with the setup. Just have to work on some propping to get it dialed in. Thanks Guys, Lee
