Hello, I have a small question which I think should be easily answerable by most of you experts here. I am building a metal detector. http://www.geotech1.com/cgi-bin/pages/comm...hless /index.dat It says I need to use 1/4 resistors, however I only have 1/2 watts lying around. Would these be sufficient in a 9v circuit or would the resistance be different at a lower voltage for the larger ...

Hi, Im looking for a few old style 100 Ohm Radiospares (RS) 5Watt wire wound resistors. This is the rounded light grey ceramic-coated resistor with the approximate dimensions of 7/8" long and 3/8" in diameter. Thanks in advance. Terry.

A post today on the "homeworkshop.org.uk" site (usually concerned with mechanical engineering) is offering a lot of old and some pre-war resistors. The photo brings back a few memories. Hope someone can make use of them. Regards, Arkley.

Firstly, thanks to this site for the help I got, esp. Technozen. For those thinking of doing this mod, you might find this interesting; I was surprised how tiny the original resistors are! From the photo's I've seen on here, they look huge! (For reference, I followed this guide: http://homepage.ntlworld.ie/technoze...istor_pack. zip ) Anyhow, the middle resistor had blown/...

Can anyone explain why there are resistors from the input directly to the chassis? I'm talking about the resistors directly from the RCA jack to the ground/chassis. Usually they are about 10uF, but much lower on the turntable inputs (which makes sense because of the lower output)... I'm assuming they help isolate any static or humming that may be found on the chassis....... yes?

I have reached the end of my ability solve my problem....please help a broke student so that my car once again has air again! My troubles began a few weeks ago when out of nowhere (well, kinda: i smelled a funny "electrical burning" smell for a few days before it stopped working), my blower only blew on high. This seems suspiciously like a resistor problem. Well, I did not know that at ...

It's a Panasonic. Any ideas? the solder joints all look good. everything plugged back in. Used new Sanyo 394-160's (was informed these are the replacement for stk392-110) and still 3 blinks.... any other help would be appreciated. Thanks. a bit more info: last owner DID attempt to replace them, as well. NOT as skilled with the soldering iron as I- to say the least. I cleaned...

[Vent disclaimer] Am I the only one who longs for a chain to start selling electronic components a la wholesale/surplus style? Yes, Active in TO and Addison in MTL are great, but the fact is people up in Thunder Bay, Medicine Hat, Trois Pistoles et al need a go-to spot for this kind of stuff. That's why I think that CT or HD should just create new electronic component sections in their ...

My 2000 Explorer v8 Eddie Bauer has the damn climate control heating, I know the resistor needs to be replaced becaues only the high setting works. I went on here and seen all the threads for resistors and know the manual resistors are located at the blower fan under the hood. My question is, are the Eddie bauer ressistors in the same location? I know the actual resistor on the two are ...

I have a convergence problem with my Toshiba 42H83, i replaced both of IC's STK392-110 and one of the 1.8 Ohms bad resistors near of the STK, i checked every 1.8 ohms resistors, everything around the IC's is fine, but i got same convergence problems. I need help to fix this problem, and i would like to know how i could enter in the service menu, thanks!

What resistor do I need to drop 12v system to 9v? I say 12v, but in actuality we have 13-14v systems. Now I'm trying to put some 9v LEDs in and need to know what resistors I need. I tried the resistor calculator but I don't know what desired milliamps value to put in. How do I know? ...

I just bought an itegrated led tail light from clear alternatives for my 97 zx6r. As soon as I opened the box I noticed there were no instructions or resistors even though the website I got it from said they would be in the box. Well I tried it anyway, when everything was in and together I tried it out. The running lights and breaklights work fine but the blinkers either don't work or they will ...

Hi all I'm after two items to complete my component list for a one valve set (4 pin triode): a. One of the old resistors with screw nut terminals at each end - The Graham Farish type or similar. It doesn't have to work provided I can get inside it to re-stuff it with a modern 3M3. b. One of the old knobs which has a centre for 1/8inch shaft and outer for the concentric control shaft out ...

Has any one successfully dismantled one of these hexagonal resistors for restuffing? Is the Tube the resistance? I am reluctant to experiment as I have a very limited stock of these old resistors. John.

Hi there; I've got (I think) an early production Carver receiver, it has no listed model number except for a verification # BEY645. I believe i've ID'd it as a MXR 150 There's a shorted 2SA1302 output and also 2 burned, black and misshapen resistors. Look like half watters. I don't know if anyone has a print on this but the resistors are numbered R549 and R539. The former is ...
