I was going to post this in the thread on McClellan, but it would be throughly off topic: http://ehistory.osu.edu/osu/sources/...ntent=014/0 604 HEADQUARTERS, June 17, 1862. General D. H. HILL, Commanding Division: GENERAL: According to my papers you now have eight North Carolina regiments, or two brigades. The one regiment (892 men) you speak of is as large as some of my brigades. ...

I'm planning on making a foray into Apoc and was wanting to add a guard detachment, including a Baneblade variant to my normal army of UltraSmurfs. I'm wanting to paint them in the colors of the Ultramar Guard Regiments or maybe Ultramar PDF. Does anyone have some ideas of what kind of color schemes they would have?

Great grandfather was part of the Honourable East India Artillery before it was usurped into the British Army after the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857. How about a forum on the HEIC regiments that were made up primarily of European (British-Irish-Scots-Welsh) troops?

I've often heard many people moan about low number of men and/or regiments in one army being deployed to field, compared to real-life battles and now I want to offer my perspective. Comparing to a real-life armies, each Total War army would be actually one divison at most, or maybe one regiment. However, to most part it is far too diverse to fill in such a model. So I usually liken Total War ...

Would it be fitting to lore to have rifle units that fight in a linear battle line? Trying to write an AAR, and I wanted to see if this was accurate. Figured this would be the best place to ask.

I'd be very interested to hear what actual growers get in yield per plant in doors. No bullshit lying about how swank your crop is by bloating the numbers. Additionally, I'd be interested to learn what various growers attribute their yields to. Be it Co2, Advanced Nutrients, Light regiments etc etc. or whatever they may be. Dry weights only apply. Myself, I get roughly 1 1/...

My wife has over 40 relatives that were all members of Indiana regiments mostly from Gibson and Vanderburgh counties in Indiana. I'd like to find someone (who is reasonably affordable) to go to the archives in D.C. and try to find out what info is in each of their respective boxes. Has anyone else ever dealt with such a large number of soldier-requests? If so, how did you handle it? In...

Historically, the Regular Army was kept largely intact, and expanded by nine regiments of infantry and one each of cavalry and artillery. Would it have made a difference to give commisions (even if only regimental level) to the Old Army officers and spread their talent through out the volunteers? Note: A difference would not necessarily be for the better. Nor would it necessarily change ...

We do this drill for the lenght of every summer. Taking 60% of the maximum for each device in the gym, and repeating that circle of moves 3 times. Our coach has probably done this for about 50 years, so I was wondering about the different training regiments you guys have apart from the usual sparing, bag, mits etc. in boxing? How do you train stamina(not meaning running, duh ) and boxing related ...

Great BBC story on the Russian all woman air units in WWII: Russia's three all-female air regiments flew more than 30,000 missions along the Eastern Front in WWII. At home they were known as Stalin's Falcons, but terrified German troops called them the Night Witches. Here - with the help of archive images - Radio 4's Lucy Ash tells their story, and discovers that their ...
