I saw two threads awhile back trying to deal with the ranking/ cheating/ boosting problems by making someones rank only only viewable themselves. The problem with this is that much of the Halo community is very competitive and, without ranks, would stop playing the game because there would be no point for them. So we need to find a way to make the Halo 3 ranking system still as competitive, but...

I know many people have complained about this, but i don't blame them because I'm experiencing the same thing. I go in doubles on my new account and I'll win maybe 6-7 games in a row and rank up 1 time. Then if someones suggests you go in with a booster, But then boosters charge you to get boosted, and you shouldn't have to pay just to rank up, that's pathetic. Also boosters can get MM banned ...

Keep it the same as Halo 3's ranking system..... I don't want one global rank like COD. I enjoy ranking up to 50 in each playlist.... The ONLY thing to change is to fix the boosting/de ranking situation. Make it so that whoever you are playing with has no affect on how fast/slow you rank up. This would solve a lot of things. i had this idea for a ranking system, it basically goes off of gameplay; how well you play and how often so it's the same ranking system, just we reset it every week so everyone can attempt to get to the top ten, and each rank 1-10 has a special rank that the person can wear for the following week, after it's been reset. also if you get on the top ten we can do an odds and evens scrim at ...

I've won almost every game and I am a 22 with around 87 exp in Team Swat, hows that work? I've won around 30 games just getting from 19 to 25, when I was 23 I won 8 not moved then lost one went down 3, so now i'm 21. Can someone please tell me how this stupid ranking system works?

I absolutely hate the ranking system that Halo 3 uses. I really don't care about an ultra-fair match. If it's in the ball-park I'm fine with it. I especially dislike how random it seems to us, since we can't see its inner workings to get an explanation. What I would like to see in Reach is something more like Call of Duty. Which one do you like better? Halo's "TrueSkill" system, or CoD's EXP based system? Personally, I rather CoD's. Why? I mean you host a ranked game,you wait until ppl join,you play VS 20 ppl (most of them around 2000-3000 points),you win 18 games and lose 2.And what is the result? You lose more points than you win after 20 played games (18 won).

With all of the general ranks out there, I can say with 100% confidence that only 1% of them are true generals. People that actually took the time out to get their aim/game up. Is LWs. If I had a nickel for every time ive played on my staff captain account at level 20 TS and saw colonels with playlist generals in TS and a 21 id have over 900 dollars, you do the math.
