What could cause a radiator cap to stay cool after extensive driving? All other parts of the system are hot as usual except the radiator cap. Thanks in advance for your input!

99 and 01 owners, Could someone please post a pic of their radiator cap, and if possible see if there is a part # ? Just trying to figure out for future reference, if it is the same cap used on the 2000 R degas bottle or radiator itself.... I'm suspecting it's not, but you never know. Thanks !!

I'm trying to pinpoint a coolant leak and a service shop told me the radiator has some leaks near cap. Today I noticed some condensation around the sides near the fill cap and then analyzed my cap and noticed it's worn and cracked on the inside part (see picture). Could this be causing a problem?

Hi! I bought a 97 Honda Accord two months ago and I'm not being lucky. Last month I had to replace the battery...not a big issue This month I decided to take my car for an oil change before going on a long trip. They performed a "courtesy" revision of my car. I ended up changing the air filter too. After driving 15 miles my car broke down. Coolant temperature rose suddenly and the ...

Myself and Steve121 have the same problem going on right now, let the car warm up and run for about 15 minutes, and we get some antifreeze on the driveways.. Seems to be coming out of the cap, nothing blowing out or spraying, just a steady trickle. Park the cars inside, and no puddles underneath. Go figure. Anyone change the cap yet, is there a ford part # for it, and is the degas ...

I haven't noticed any issues with my cooling system but my radiator cap "looked" rather tired so I replaced with a new one. After a fair amount driving around town that would have had my overflow tank at the FULL line with the OLD cap, my NEW cap left the overflow tank level still sitting at the COLD line, meaning it had not dumped any coolant yet from the rad. I'm assuming the old cap ...

Leaking radiator cap when you turn it to tighten, it will just keep turning. The ridge/slot the cap rides in on the radiator was a little bent and I straightened it, but still does it. A new cap didnt fix the problem. After a drive, there is rad fluid all around the cap and if a long drive it will empty the overflow. Is this a ...

My 1996 radiator developed a small pin hole on the right side plastic end cap. So I'm replacing it with a Visteon from RockAuto. The new radiator has plumbing inlets/outlets on both the right and left side plastic caps for oil and transaxle oil cooling (the old one only has them on the left side.) I guess I have a separate cooler in front of my radiator and only plumbing I removed from the ...

I have decided that I shall replace my radiator with an aftermarket unit from Koyo. But the Koyo radiator does not come with a cap. So I want to buy Koyo's 1.3 Bar cap. It's this one: http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/k...iator-cap.h tml Since the radiator will now hold higher pressure, will the reservoir near the turbo also need a 1.3 Bar cap? If so, I will need to order two caps. But ...

I think Chris is saying (and correct me if I'm wrong) ..that there are two size caps on most radiators (with or without coolant recovery - which I haven't seen since my 1978 BMW 320i). The size that we're used to seeing ..and smaller. The rest is the pressure setting. Then it's basically asking for a xxlb cap.

I went to the parts store to rent the pressure tester but it was $170 deposit, so I decided to try a new cap and so far it seems to be working. After driving to the parts store (~20 min. drive) I was able to pull the radiator cap without any of the typical spewing/spraying. However, the radiator was full of coolant as was the overflow. I put the new cap on and drove for a little while; checked...
