Wiring a network cable with RJ11 plugs I know they're not strictly RJ11 plugs, but for the sake of argument, assume they're the ones that connect to your ADSL modem for example. Is it possible to crimp an RJ11 plug onto a network cable? I'm looking to replace the current telephone extension lead we have with electrically ...

Hello! As everyone on this forum is well aware (I hope) the ring-wire trick offers significant boosts to the speed of ADSL connections. The RJ11 jack has 6 slots, and 4 gold pins. Looking at the jack with the gold pins facing you, plastic clip facing away, and the wire pointing down / towards you; Going from left to right on the pins # 1 2 3 4. Which ones would you cut to achieve...

Been having a look at Belkin High Speed Internet Modem Cable 2.1 meters (Part # CC3011aed07) for connecting the router to phone master socket with filtered face plate. Replacing the thin plastic covered one that came with router. People that have used a third party cable did you notice any improvement? And what brands have people used?

The situation is; The client current has an unstable ADSL line. Stats vary throughout the day, but I have seen the router outputting NEGATIVE SNR at certain times. The socket is old, this will be replaced with a nice new box and ADSL2+ professional filter. The only problem is, from the socket to the router itself, the wire covers about 15m alongside various data and power cables. ...

The router is rack-mounted in a cabinet, in a wiring cupboard. Believe me, it would be much easier than all this messing around if I could! I've discussed it with the person who manages the building and he said we can route it where the current wire runs... Which is a total pain by all accounts. Ho hum!

Got a couple keyboards from the thrift today. One is a IBM Model M, part number 1392595. It's got a RJ11 connector on the end. Must be for some dumb terminal for a mainframe or other with the jump key and all. Too bad they don't accept computers anymore...Who knows what this was hooked up to. Also picked up a Everex Keyboard. Would have normally passed it up, but you can tell ...

The problem is that as long as the cable is connected and the receipt printer is on, the cash drawer will not stay closed.Unplug the cable from the drawer to the printer, and it stays closed.
