http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqAgmUW0gB8 It would be cool to be able to bust out this band's music at a gig, since this band is legendary around here. But I can't figure it out. Any help?

What I did with Ubantu (see sig) is imagine a world where precolonial Bantu Africa developed on its own in a magical world until reaching something like the Renaissance. This is actually very difficult - like going from Druids to the English Empire. What I would like is a world filled with small continents reaching the age of sail at the same time, all based on marginalized cultures in the ...

This started out as a regular riff, but my riffs ended up in being big creatures of each color. Pretty nifty. Sirens of Orisa Cliffs Creature - Siren Reach At the beginning of each opponent's end step, if no creatures attacked you this turn, return all creatures that player controls to their owners' hands. : Target creature you control gains haste until end of turn. Sirens of ...

I have been taking 1/2 hr lessons from a guy for a few months. I have learned about 2 scales other than that it's a new riff from a differant song each time. I told him that I would like to finish learning a song before moving on. He says you need to be overloaded and gives me 2 more songs to work on. I have started playing again about 2 years ago. (I played back in high school but really only ...

Story of the Song - The main riff was laying around for a while and being worked as a downtempo track. Late one night the Triple Threat got a feeling for the rhythm and busted out the bass guitar. A funky bass line flowed and the whole thing was Gone - in a new direction but with a hot vibe. Darren's popped and slapped bass was added with a Jimmy Smith style organ vibe played by C and it ...

I could've sworn I ran across some horn and vocal riff samples in 7XL one day and I can't seem to relocate them. I'm not certain if they were in the "sample content" files or in one of the soft synths (I've got the E-Mu 6 pack along with the standard Cakewalk stuff.) Does anyone know what I'm talking about, where to find them or was I just dreaming I hard them? Get back as soon as you can...

Hello! For all the electronic song-writers out there... I am very curious about when do you find or create the sound you are really looking for. I run into this problem where OK i just thought of a great riff, I know i want it to be a hard distorted sawtooth harmonic lead with some filter sweeps and cutoffs here and there, but it takes me FOREVER to make this sound I want, but when i ...

I had a tape of a Charles Mingus concert made from a concert in Europe in 1964. The quality is very nice except that the opening, which is a bass riff that gets repeated several times, was recorded too low, and the person recording it upped the level fairly slowly before the piano jumped in. All this happens in the first 30 seconds or so. I ran a decreasing gain change on it so that it was ...
