when ever i try to run regedit.exe it says : Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. I'm logged in as an Admin, and can run and change everything else. Anyone got any Idea about this one. Matt J. 1 person got this answer I do too

I want to disable balloon tips. I've tried a number of things including a regedit. The problem is the registry value is set at 0, but the balloon tips continue. It's driving me up the wall. I am unable to run regedit.exe from start.   Computer says the file is not found.  I had edited the registry and must have made a wrong entry because after reboot I was unable to run regedit and all items disapeared from my task manager. I had a back up registry saved and can no longer find the file.  system restore was not able to fix the problem 1 person needs an answer I do too

A virus was affected my computer and disabled my regedit and task manager, and I think that was not the only effect theres a lot more. I reformated my computer, backup my files but unfortunately after reformating and copy my files again. THe virus came back how to getr rid of it. Thanks
