I am looking for a nice 455 Quadrajet for a street performance 455 build. It will be going into my 1970 Buick GS455 Stage 1 Clone. I am not picky on matching up numbers or correct year but I am looking for a good condition complete setup that is ready to go or at least very close. Let me know what you have and how much you would like for it. Thanks! Bo

Hi everyone, Looking for another spare 1972 Buick 350 Quadrajet in case my "rebuilt" one does not work out. Is a 1973 Buick 350 Quadrajet the same as a 1972? If not, what are the differences? I'm looking at the following auction on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Rebui...Q5fAccessor ies

Hi everyone, Turns out the rebuilt 1972 Buick 350 Rochester Quadrajet that I have is still causing problems on the Buick - will be taking it back to the carburator shop to see if it can be fixed. In the meantime, I am borrowing a friend's Buick carb (which works excellent), but I have to return it so I am looking for another 1972 Buick 350 Quadrajet carburator hopefully in already good ...

I am wanting to adjust the choke as with cold starts it runs rough and bellows black smoke. When it warms up it is smooth with no smoke. I have never done this before could someone explain how to adjust. Its a 1985 chevy 350 with quadrajet electric choke.

I have a 84 Chevy C-20 PU with 1978 350 eng, with quadrajet carb. Seems to run good but cant get over 10 mpg no matter what I've tried. What can I do to increase mileage? I'm open to anything that works. Thank in advance for your time and help Answer 10 miles per gallon for a C 20 is not bad mileage. Before assaulting the carburetor check the rear end gears. If there is a tag on the rear ...

I am looking for a 7042240 Quadrajet (1972 455 automatic 800cfm). Needs to be complete and rebuildable. Can send you Paypal or make a deal with my reproduction black sports steering wheel (only a few months old) if you are looking for one. Need good pics to make deal - thanks! May consider at 7041540 carb, but sort of have a '72 theme for my project.

Hi everyone, I'm doing a 350 4bbl intake/Quadrajet carb swap on my '72 Skylark. As I'm putting everything back together I see that the original 2bbl carb bolts which attach it to the manifold are going to be way too short for the 4bbl Quadrajet carb. Can someone please let me know the correct length for the bolt so I can go pick some up from the hardware store?

I installed a reman'ed carb from Summit racing and have spent the last few weekends fine tuning it. The truck runs great, except for an idle problem from I'm chasing..the damn thing won't idle in drive or reverse beyond a few seconds without feathering the throttle. In addition to the idle problem, if after driving for a couple of blocks then come to a stop, put the truck in neutral, the engine ...

Did a search, couldn't find the information I was looking for. Short version is, I decided to slap a Q-jet on my rig, and I got one for basically free that was in good shape. Number is 17087175, application is supposed to be for either an 87 Firebird, or for an 87 Ramcharger with a 360. Rebuilt it, but it turns out I got it for free because some of the linkages had been cannibalized by the ...

In excellent condition, electrick choke. I bought it a few years ago, had it on my bronco for a year then switched to propane. It has been in a box for a year. I believe I bought it from BC Broncos. They call it a Stage 2.

Running 425 nailhead from 66 Riveria. Was told it has fresh bearings and 20 oversize pistons. Included is an AFB manifold to replace the quadrajet, a junkyard trans from a 65 riveria, and spare: distributor, heads, starter, crank, cam, main bearing caps (drilled and tapped for addition of custom windage tray I never got around to making), and just about anything else off of a cracked motor you ...

My VH 253 4Brl Quadrajet has a constant backfire above 3000 revs, The kind of sound it is made me think it was a bottom end bearing if that helps anyone figure out what i mean by constant. I only realised what was actualy happening when i cracked the s#!ts and pulled the throttle wide open while my head was under the bonet with the air cleaner off... I checked the timing and then ...

It's still a standard engine albeit with a summit 2802 cam and summit header/exhaust combo. It is still currently running the shocking 7.6:1 heads and stock quadrajet. Made 213.5 at the wheels -calculated 258 at the fly. I don't know what's going off with the torque curve though. Most engines drop say 20-30Nm at the most over the final 2000rpm - this has dropped over 100Nm. It does it ...

Our '72 has a stock rebuilt 350, stock Quadrajet, Auto, 3.08 gears. Heads are 3973487 castings with I believe 1.94/1.5 valves. Also installed an HEI with 10 gage wire to the fuse box. Truck starts great, idles real well, and runs good except when doing heavy acceleration. If I floor it, it has no real acceleration. I doesn't stumble or back fire, just has no real push. I don't expect it to ...

I have a question for all the Quadrajet guys. I've been rebuilding these thing for a long time but I'm up against a new challenge. I have a carb #7045504 that is missing the bellows and needle. These were discontinued in 1989. I'm planning on pulling a camper out west next summer and would like the altitude compensating bellows instead of the plastic spool and needle that is with it. I say on the...
