Hi, I wonder if anyone running a W700 with Quad (Q9000) has run the passmark 6.1 program? I would like to know the result... Please post your machine details (processor, op system, RAM, Video, SSD or not etc.) and the overall Passmark rating. I am currently running a Pentium E5200 Dual-Core 2.5GHz. I made the mistake of buying a brand computer (Dell) so I cannot overclock it. I want to buy an Intel Core 2 Quad. My motherboard has the right socket (LGA 775) so that's not a problem, but is there anything else I need to know that might conflict with me getting a quad-core cpu? You bought a prebuilt so I highly doubt getting a new cpu without a new gpu would increase performance noticeably, What card do you have? a 8600GT? 9600GT? Or something else? You'll only see a performance increase if you plan on running a large amount of programs at the same time. Well I have an 8800GTS 512. I want to upgrade to a quad ...

Yeah well the temps will go back to normal idle temps within 10 seconds of you stopping gaming. So the temp your seeing in the bios is the idle temp, not the load temp. Your load temp would be much much higher. If you downloaded coretemp like I said and ran it while gaming, you will see what your max temps have hit.
